The myth of equal man and equal culture is the most perverse thing from progressivism.
when you get down to it, this is required
it's like how some extreme feminists wont' even acknowledge that male testosterone levels and other biological factors make men physically stronger and more explosive than women. certain crackpots think we all are born equal and socialization explains the difference
why? once you establish one biological difference, you open the door for others (and the belief system requires intellectual pursuit instead of religious-like dogma)

I think it's the other way around. WASPS are like northern European socialists for the most part, it's only when you add diveristy do they transform in to Western xenophobic capitalists

Well said and this what makes it so much more alarming that the lefties and progs would latch onto and support such an oppressive cult like Islam.

strawmen arguments are not allowed here
Well, that just shows how different the context is between Europe and the United States. You conflated the two and the disaster in Europe is applied to the US regularly, even though they are totally different situations.
Straw Man indeed.

American and English WASPS and the Dutch essentially created capitalism. English (and subsequently, early American) and Dutch peoples had long been ruled by others, and developed a healthy distate for authority and a penchant for loving money. Thank goodness.

show me the major feminist critiques of the mayor and rapists
look at this one

or this one
she then goes out of her way to try to bring up vague notions of European sexual assaults while drowning out the actual incident being discussed. they can't ever just come out and give an opinion without trying to take down what they perceive as western (esp male) culture
look at this one

Feminists are necessarily concerned with the protection of minorities and marginalised groups. If some of them are finding it difficult to speak up about the event because of concerns it might be used to encourage aggression against refugees, I can’t say I blame them.

It’s a miracle! Finally, the right wing cares about rape culture! Finally, all over the world, from Fox News to 4chan, a great conversion has taken place and men who previously spent their time shaming, stalking and harassing women are suddenly concerned about our rights! And all it took was a good excuse to bash migrants and Muslims and tell feminists they don’t know what’s good for them.
You know what has never yet prevented sexual violence? Unbridled racism.

So mobs of thugs running through the streets beating up anyone who looks different from them and is weaker than them is a good thing on this board now?
Duly noted.
Context my friend.
When you have an immigrant people group roaming your country doing as it pleases and your government and police force turn a blind eye and actually cater to them, action is going to be taken.
But I'm sure if they were raping your family and/or children, you'd simply shake their hand and wish them well.

we are taking in hundreds of thousands of these people in the first wave. it's not isolated to just europe

if only we didn't have to deal with any of these issues, but we do.

Absence of a journalistic response isn't evidence of complicity. You're a lawyer dude.
The first article (read in its entirety) does nothing to bolster your original claim (that "most" feminist groups were okay with the Cologne mayor's diatribe).
ETA: Don't ask me about the second article. I'm not wasting my time after seeing the selective excerpting of the first.

i didn't say that. you did. i said (at least twice) that they were silent. that's all i said
this is basically the one group of which they will choose to be silent (with respect to rape)
they aren't defending the rape, but it is ideologically inconsistent with their beliefs and they can't be progressive and a feminist if they critique those of a marginalized group. so they will be silent or try to bring up a point about how "this is bad, but the west is bad, too"

I think they see it as the means to bring down the west. They certainly don't want to get their hands dirty so let the barbarians do it.

Muslims are simply apart of the leftist coalition. feminists have to defend them because they can't afford to thin their own herd. freeloaders, LGBT folk, feminists, environmental whackos, minorities, etc. the only group the dems take for granted are blue collar union members and they are potentially going to lose them in this election. It's simply a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. anyone who wants the destruction/replacement of the evil white male fits into their group. values be damned.

That's incredibly confusing. So we're already taking in 70,000 a year. Is that normal immigration? The article looks like there will be an increase in the rare in the 10-25,000 range. It specifically states we will accept 10,000 Syrian refugees.
Not an argument with you so much as a critique of lazy journalism.
Posted on 1/30/16 at 12:44 pm to Stagg8
i honestly don't know, but i would imagine, that the 70k is so high b/c of the syrian war and 5 years ago we weren't taking in nearly as many from syria

We're not going to come to an agreement on this. My point is that I don't expect an individual or an individual group for that matter to have to officially construct a response to an attack that is already internationally derided.
I don't believe there is an international conspiracy that crosses languages, sexes, races, political and sociological ideologies to band together for the good of all marginalized groups.

well they certainly pile on when it's "internationally derided" but with a white/male alleged to be the rapist
see: columbia girl, UVA, etc

you need to read more progressive literature, then. it's not a conspiracy as much as a belief system and world view
