What's the difference between racism and xenophobia in this particular context?
xenophobia has meaning while racism has been stretched and contorted so much that is has no meaning anymore
quote:
Or is it more likely it was a group of people that looked the same?
i mean not to get technical but we don't even know how racially different the "others" are in this scenario
another reason why racism is such a weak term (generally)
if you say xenophobic, it covers this situation just perfectly without any qualifications necessary
quote:
What advantages specifically?
welfare, allowing them to break immigration rules yet to remain residing in the country, creating rules that allow these groups not to assimilate into the culture yet to benefit from that culture, "hate speech" laws and regulations that prevent people from discussing certain negative aspects of migration and the migrants' cultures, blaming citizen victims for crimes committed by migrants, removing objective data from governmental collection to prevent studying the behaviors of the migrants, etc

Hmmm. If only America had ever had masked men terrorizing minorities who looked different from them! Could you imagine if that ever happened here??? No. Not in America! Never!

he clearly was talking about modern america where that is a mythology of progressives more than a reality that people face

If anyone actually read the article, there is no evidence that children were attacked. And those that were attacked, teenagers or not, are not even refugees at this point. They were street gang members in Morocco, fled to Europe, left the refugee programs on their own to join street gangs in Europe.

So you're really comparing the two. The stupidity on this board is astounding.

The leaflets they handed out included:
Not too shabby for soccer hooligans.
quote:
'The justice system has walked out and the contract of society is therefore broken – it is now every Swedish man’s duty to defend out public spaced against the imported criminality.'
Not too shabby for soccer hooligans.

probably because the "refugees" didn't see it fit to bring their wives and children over to europe.

I'm shocked you missed his point. Simply shocked.

the governments of these countries (and our country) are going against the will of a great portion of the populations
You probably don't realize this, but around 70% of Americans wanted immigration reform with a pathway to legal status in poll after poll from 2013-2015. I don't know what it is now. Vast majorities of Americans wanted the Gang of Eight bill passed by the House. So, yes, you are right. We have a lot or politicians who do not care what vast portions of Americans want.

Swedish media reported that the thugs, allegedly linked to Sweden's football hooligan scene, were targeting unaccompanied minors with a 'foreign' background
Sure, let's target the kids instead of the young men who are more likely to bomb a restaurant or rape your women. Cowards.
How many innocent little brown kindergarteners do you think are roaming the streets at night?

we're not talking about immigration pathways, primarily for latino illegals
we're talking about the forced migration of (often loosely documented) muslims of north african and arab descent
strawmen arguments are not allowed here

quote:
When Swedish streets are no longer safe to walk on for normal Swedes, it is our DUTY to fix the problem,' the leaflet reads. 'This is why, today, 200 Swedish men gathered to take a stand against the north African ‘street children’ who are running rampage in and around the capital’s central station.' 'Police have clearly showed that they lack the means to stop their progress and we se no other way than to hand down the punishment they deserve ourselves.' 'The justice system has walked out and the contract of society is therefore broken – it is now every Swedish man’s duty to defend out public spaced against the imported criminality.' 'Those who gathered today are neither your politician, your journalist or your policeman. We are your father, your brother, your husband, your colleague, your friend and your neighbour. 'Swedish men and women deserve safety in their everyday life and we are therefore calling on all others who also see the problem to follow in our footsteps, both in Stockholm and in other places around the country. For a better future together'

see what is going to happen is they're setting up the government, because they know the government will find the resources to crack down on the swedes. then they will have ample evidence of the preferential treatment of migrant criminals over swedish citizens
that will ramp the chaos up a great deal

Oh wow. Definitely sounds better to be a refugee than a citizen of the country. Think we should all do it.
Come on dude. Some of these examples have nothing to do with actual government legislation and some are shared by citizens and refugees alike. As for citizens being blamed for crimes committed by immigrants... WTF? Have any examples?
Posted on 1/30/16 at 11:39 am to bamafan1001
Exactly. The police and government aren't doing anything to protect the people from violence and rape. At some point the people will take matters into their own hands.
This is just the beginning.

Orphans and widows!
Pilgrims!
Denying them is not what we stand for!

Muslims assimilate!

And a citizen was convicted for the crime proven to be committed by a refugee?

accurate
racism has been so over-used, stretched, redefined, etc that it has almost no meaning anymore. hell it also may not even apply
quote:

that's a straw man
i said they were given adv advantages. i showed some of them. it will never be better to be a refugee as long as they retain their barbaric culture and no governmental policy will change that
