Shitty person, shitty wrestler, buried more talent than anyone in wrestling history, harmed the business more than he helped it, despite some wildly iconic times.

I’ve had Ozzy on my card since the early 80’s. Absolutely amazing that he lasted as long as he did.

I don't know how old the doosh bags are that are posting about Hogan being a shitty wrestler and/or hurting the business or whatever, but wrestling would NEVER be what it is without him. That's not even debatable. He was the first one to crossover to being an off-the-mat superstar. He paved the way for guys to do more than just wrestle. He was bigger than life in and out of the ring.

Hogan was truly a trailblazer in bringing fake homoerotic wrestling to the mainstream.

Part of the nature of wrestling is burying talent. Promoters buried wrestlers to put over their own kids or to put over their homegrown stars. Bookers buried talent to protect their own status or because of personal jealousies or grudges. Other wrestlers sandbagged talent regularly for these same reasons. The shoot interviews online should make it clear that 90% of wrestlers are petty, jealous a-holes who never progressed beyond the locker room mentality of their varsity sports team. I'm not saying Hulk was a good guy, but isn't it convenient that the most popular wrestler of all time is somehow disliked by people who are petty, jealous and insecure?

Just think, wrestlers die at a higher clip than rockstars. They have an even more demanding schedule and more physical job, plus the same volume of booze and drug use. 71 might as well be 150 in wrestler years.

RIP Hulkster.

Shoot with 'em, brother!

The Hulkster was larger than life. Ultimately, the name of the game is putting asses in seats, and nobody did it better than Hulk Hogan.

Godspeed. This man was a walking billboard for mixing steroids and cocaine in the 80's, and then turned around in the 90's and made WCW cool for a year and a half. I still expect him to kick out.

We know obviously he was on roids for a ton of his career but was he know to live the usual party wrestling life? If stayed clean for the part other than steroids that might explain him making it to 71. Like others have said 71 is ancient for a wrestler

As a little boy I was the ultimate Hulkamaniac. He was my hero. And to the people talking crap about him in this thread you can frick off. Most people here wouldn’t even be wrestling fans if it wasn’t for him. This really sucks.
