Trump is talking about leaving the way it is right now and not changing in March.
In 2019, in a text that was opposite, Trump said he was all for changing it to Daylight Saving Time in March and leaving it THAT way.
No idea why he changed his position.

I’m failing to see the issue. Give me dark until 8am for a few months over the idiocy of being dark at 5pm for a few months.

Same. I really don’t care which one they pick, just pick one. Or adjust it 30 mins and meet in the middle. I’m about 90 miles from the mountain time line, sun setting after 8 is pretty nice when the boat launch is only 18 mins from my house.
