Pretty obvious intent has not mattered to the mob before, why should it now?

His "new cool kid friends" are the direct result of his new wife.

As I understand it (and I've never listened to his show, so what I know I've read online), his new wife is a wanna-be/status chaser. She's decided her mission in life is to be part of the Hamptons/UES/tony folks clique in NYC and that's how to ingratiate themselves with that group.

Canceling his show will be his dream come true...the guy is worth north of 500 million at this point, has a mansion in the Hamptons, huge apartment in New York...he could give a frick about working...but, drag his name across the mud and ruin his reputation would kill him

Good point.

Maybe we can get Howard or Whoopi or Ted to give us some faux apology post on Twitter.

This situation is funny to me.
Back around 1999 I thought Stern was funny. Enjoyed his show. This isn't the only time he ever dropped the "n-bomb" either.

Anyway, this just shows how much culture has changed in 20 years. He could get away with this type of thing on regular radio back then.

Today, the mob will turn crazy against him. The same mob that he has "empowered" by becoming a cuck. So, I can't think of a person more deserving to get eaten alive by their own Frankenstein's monster. And despite being rich, I think Stern had an ego that wants to be well liked. It's almost poetic - the only way to really "hurt" him.

Stern is one of those iconic people I can never figure out how he ever became popular. People must get really bored to find him entertaining.

He’s surrounded himself with a massive echo chamber that only amplified his liberalism. His whole staff is one big group think. He’s broadcasting from the basement of his hamptons mansion bitching at people for not wearing masks or wanting to work. Talk about out of touch

That’s how I feel. I don’t get him. Maybe it’s a New York thing or something.

Could be, just don't get it. The entire shock jock era was a precursor to the clickbait news model.

From what I understand,Stern has made a heck of a living out of pissing folks off.

Apparently what he's doing now is working.

Used to watch his E show and been listening since he moved to Sirius.

I actually hope this ruins him. His show has turned to shite the last few years. The ultimate low when he had Hilary Clinton on and kept telling her she was his hero.

On a different note, thats a wig right? Used to think it was just dyed but it looks more and more like a wig

I've listened to Stern since I lived in Dallas for a few years in the 90's. I loved the way he pushed the envelope and had this cast of nutjobs, the Wackpack. I still find the show funny when it focuses on Ronnie, Richard & Sal, Tan Mom, or High Register Shawn. The rest of the show sucks.

His interviews are now only of left-wing celebrities, and always include a "Bash Trump" segment. Stern's friends are all left-wing, PC-lovers, i.e. Jimmy Kimmel.

This change happened around the time that he started dating his current wife. Then, he changed the names of some of his wack packers to names that were more pc. Then, he got rid of guys like Gilbert Gottfried. He lost Artie, who he could have had back, and didn't replace him. Also, no more "in your face" guys like Stuttering John who asked celebrities very uncomfortable and "inappropriate" questions at celebrity events.

Stern became one of those uppity, pc individuals that he used to loathe and make fun of. His show is now 90% bashing Trump and his supporters.

I quit listening to Howard long ago, but kept up with his show via friends who still did.
Up until the Hillary )) kiss episode, I had hopes that the original Howard would step up and explain that all the previous pandering to the PC crowd was just a big prank to see if he could get Hillary to come on the show. Maybe spring Jennifer Flowers in the middle of the interview as a surprise guest.
The world is not that much fun with Howard neutered.

Stern has been gradually getting worse and worse with time, but when he neutered the Wrap Up Show because it was becoming more entertaining than the actual show, I stopped listening consistently. Howard 101 with pre-2016 segments are the only thing keeping me subscribed, which is pretty sad I guess.

Richard, Sal, Ronnie, the Wack Pack (save High Pitch Eric), and Sour Shoes calls are the only good elements left of the show.

I doubt anything happens because I feel like he’s addressed this before, but I honestly wouldn’t mind if he uses any blowback as his deciding factor to retire this year.

The funniest thing about his shows now are the Sal and Richard prank calls and the sound bytes that Fred plays in response to what's being talked about. Fred is a genius at finding the perfect sound byte.

The show itself has become so fricking stale though. I started listening to Howard Stern when he was on terrestrial radio in the late 90's, and that version of Howard would have gone the frick off on the 2020 version of Howard.

He basically turned into a liberal version of Imus.

It’s funny I see people condemn cancel culture yet want to cancel howard.
Internet utopia.

It's because that one side it's consistently getting cancelled and the other is immune. (Tredeau, Northam, Kimmel, etc)

Is time for them to get a taste of their own medicine. Roseanne lost her show for a joke tweet that was actually pretty funny.

This segment is 100 times worse, and not even remotely funny.

People just want equal response, and are tired of the double standard
