Yes, they are reversible but it is not always successful. It is also a pricey procedure.

I think 18 is the appropriate age.
Some should have it done before that.

I don't see how this is anyones choice as to what is too young other than the person looking to have one. If you don't want to have kids and can pay for it, why wouldn't a doctor do it on anyone who is a legal adult?
EDIT: I can understand the ethics though of providing what may be a permanent removal of ones ability to produce offspring at such an early age where they may change their minds later.

Had mine at 26 after 2 kids
No regrets
It's reversible most of the time, and if not, I think there are extraction methods also
Lately I've thought that I wouldn't mind another kid, but I don't want one enough to reverse it

Depending on your gene pool and criminal record, it should be mandatory for some no matter what the age.

I had mine at 30. Wife wasn't 100% on board with idea. I told I was good with having 2 healthy boys. Didn't want a 3rd.

My in laws neighbor had his done at 20. He was sexually active and halfway mildy retarded and his parents didn't want him having kids.
ETA. My cousin had his reversed and had a kid.

Not to start a shite storm in here, but reading this got me to thinking:
Guy at 18 wanting a vasectomy: refusals, additional questions and "ethics" considerations...for a (mostly) REVERSIBLE process (along with other options such as freezing).....and most people are "ok" with that
Girl at 18 wanting an abortion: well it's her body and she should be free and clear to kill a living human, which is obviously NOT REVERSIBLE....and some people (probably most for cases in early trimester) are "ok" with that.
What are we doing, people?!?
