I know a guy that had one a few years ago. They had two boys 11 months apart, and a girl later. The doctor told them after the 2nd boy that it was pretty much impossible for them to get pregnant again due to something with his wife. Well a few weeks later, she's pregnant again. Had the vasectomy. Back in the spring he had it reversed because they want another one.

18 is way too young to know if you ever want your own kids or not. 25 might me old enough.
I had mine at 30. The doc said he doesn't like to do it unless you have kids and are happily married. I had a daughter and a son and assured him I was happily married.
Divorce talks began 2 months later and I'm glad I had it during my man-whore phase.
