So 55% of LA doesn't own a gun? Growing up I don't think that I knew any families that didn't have at least one. Granted I grew up in Central in the 80s around a bunch of baws.

The Federal Naval bases would be immediately commandeered for use by the state. Just about Sheriff's Department for every Parish in south Louisiana has a fleet of these...

Louisiana's biggest strength would be its Naval support as it has been throughout history.

Texas, California and NY have both a State Guard and Navy
and direct access to other states and the sea
AK has Canada in the way and OH would have to go through the great lake to get to the Atlantic

I think Texas best chance would be to go Russian on everybody and just push all the meat Shields from the cities( DFW, Houston and San Antonio) towards the borders and bum rush everybody with the good old boy Texans in the rear with the gear and the guns.

I'll give you that. They also have the Texas Air National Guard. But again you still have the problem of targets. You'll run out of munitions trying to bomb individual targets spread through the countryside and that's assuming you can even see them from the air which you really can't with how thick the Forest cover is in places like Louisiana and Mississippi.
I have this conversation with my cousins in Texas all the time. Their mindset is completely different about Warfare because Texas is mostly open. There's not a lot of thick dense canopy in Texas so they don't understand the advantage that that provides when you're playing home field

And then the remaining Texan good old boys in the rear are so ideologically similar to the remaining louisianians that they'll probably just sign a non-aggression pact and join an alliance with the mississippians then kill off those sister frickers in Alabama and the useless trailer trash in Oklahoma. Part of The Pact with Texas would probably require louisianians to "take care" of the New Orleans and Baton Rouge "problem" amid all the chaos. If you know what I mean
Arkansas, with its mountainous Terrain and highest-in-the-South firearm ownership rate, would be our Switzerland. We'll just let that Sleeping Dog lie.

Louisiana would destroy Mississippi and Arkansas. If we played defense against Texas, and use the wilderness to our advantage we can hold against Texas for a period of time, but not indefinitely.
