I walked away when hunting to have a piss in PA and a black bear did this. I let out the most violent scream/roar I could manage and about 25% pissed myself.
I came walking back up to the camp and all the guys were right next to each other armed and asked me if I heard that awful sound.
He was maybe 350lbs or so... And I wanted No god damned part of it.

Was walking out on my dock tonight. I had a crazed raccoon come at me. I moved out of the way at the last second. Reminded me of the bear.
