Start making minorities stand on both feet and get ahead in life. Tge government is doing nothing but hurting them by being their crutch.

No im not saying that; what I am saying and the article is saying is that they may not know how to play the game within the game to increase their odds. They may not have the resources to take LSAT prep courses that little johnny who's is a second generation lawyer has.

So they can pay for law school but can't pay $250 for LSAT prep books?

They have to work and go to school at the same time that takes time away from studying, which could affect their scores.

Only black people work while studying for graduate school admissions exams. Got it.

This is so true. It's a lot of keyboard klansman on this site. It makes it really difficult for a black person to enjoy this site.

Yeaaah. Unfortunately whether the dad sticks around or not isn't up to kids.

Just curious--have you ever mentored underprivileged youth?

So Bethune Cookman had to affiliate with an online school to dupe gullible college-attending black people? That's pretty funny.

Why couldn't Bethune Cookman just figure out how to dupe these gullible black students on their own?

I wouldn't think it would be. I think hard work and dedication would determine if any one would be a great lawyer. Ironically those things also correlate to a person's test scores as well.

Meh. The LSAT sure as hell doesn't test hard work. It's a straight aptitude test. You don't need any preparation to take it.

It probably doesn't perfectly correlate to success in the legal field but it does measure your ability to comprehend arguments, analyze patterns, locate themes, etc. all of which are the foundations of the legal field/law school.

There is a reason why it's valued so highly by admissions offices in law school.

So, you say blacks are basically good at sports and an occasional one becomes proficient in a job? Ok......

I'll leave the race element out--

You grow up poor or with parents that aren't around either because they work or they are POS and you've pretty much been dealt a huge disadvantage in life. I'm surprised at those downplaying the role of a mentor in this thread.

No you don't

Being 100% truthful

160 LSAT and black = Georgetown, UVA, Texas, Penn, etc.

160 LSAT and white = LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee

164 LSAT and black = Harvard, Yale, Stanford

164 LSAT and white = UGA and Alabama

LSAT score isn't everything

This is correct, though because the difficulty of majors and undergraduate institutions varies widely, the LSAT is the most heavily weighted factor for applicants.

Because studies show that you're chances of being [insert professional career] are significantly higher if you have a parent or mentor that is one. Thats facts.

So yeah it helps to have an affluent parent. They have the resources and knowledge to guide you in the right direction. I see it every day with the kids i mentor. Their margins for error are smaller and the barriers for entry they will have to hurdle will be exponentially higher than affluent kids. and its not because of a lack of
"knowledge."

I get what you are saying, Strong, but this isn't 1975. There is a wealth of knowledge available to everyone in the form of the internet. You can Google pretty much anything these days. If you can't get the clear answer you're looking for there, you can go to Reddit and find a thread regarding it most likely. You can Youtube alot of stuff you have questions about as well. I have taken my stance on the unfairness that minorities face in today's society, but this isn't one of them imo. I think alot of these kids are too anxious and over zealous about going into law without doing the proper research. And like I said before, maybe some that are going to these low grade over priced law schools shouldn't be lawyers in the first place.

That's not a fair or accurate statement from my (relatively) short time here. Yeah there are some with a truly prejudiced undertone to their posts, but for most others they either say shite just to be funny or they just call it like they see it without the degree of "sensitivity" aka bullshite that left-leaning society requires these days.

Seems like there's a lot of black people that think if you don't blindly accept any and every allegation of racism that that makes you racist, which is foolish.
