I got a scooter and I thought it would be easy to learn. Kind of scary though.

We go to an empty parking lot every weekend. Do ok going straight, but turns are tough

What else can I do to get more comfortable?

How to get my wife comfortable riding a motorcycle?

Want me to take first shot? I believe I have gotten her comfortable with trying new things before.

Get her a vibrator and let her practice for 3 weeks.

Friend of mine has been a Harley rider since the early 70’s, last year his wife wanted to start riding solo so he bought her one of those bikes with the 2 wheels in the front and now he has one too, a lot safer than trying to teach the 2 wheel bike.

Some people lack the physical and mental aptitude for certain things in life. Sounds like your wife has no business riding a motorcycle.

I agree with you, that's why I got her a Vespa first. It's mostly the turning the has her uncomfortable. Going in a straight line, she's ok.

Not willing to give up yet just hoping for tips to help.

The fact that the OT hasn’t responded with “what a coincidence so do I” is disappointing.

seriously, its the control issue that scares her

get her, or both of you, on a bicycle and set up obstacle course making tight turns and lane changes where she needs to lean into it in order to do it

that should solve her fear issues and after that riding the scooter will be childs play for her

dont rush it or her fear will shut her down from trying

if she doesnt learn and understand how to lean into and out of turns then she will make you wreck the bike by leaning opposite of you and make you lose control

Imagine the 1st time she's in a pinch and has to make a decision quick.

Make a decision.

I don’t know if you can make someone comfortable doing something they don’t want to do or is apprehensive about doing.
For example I’m not crazy about heights. So if we go snow skiing my wife knows that she can give me a little time with the lift or she goes without me and I’ll catch up.

Erase the entire history of motorcycle fatalities and the data recorded from them.

Then change human nature itself along with the laws of physics.

Once you've done those things you'll have a good case.

Motorcycles are dangerous and often deadly. Your wife is right to reject them.

We want to sign her up for a motorcycle safety course that uses scooters but they're booked out until September here. What else can I do to help her overcome her fear and get more comfortable?

Wait a few months so she doesn’t kill herself?

Have you talked about the old “look where your turning” trick?
