Yep, and what is odd is that salt has been used for thousands of years...I guess not in the quantities that we currently consume it.

Sugar is a newcomer...

I disagree about salt. Salt is fine unless you have high blood pressure.

But eating sodium bombs (like hot wings) does cause you to retain some water the next day. Overall, though, the effects are temporary and doesn't actually slow down fat loss.

I seriously feel for you guys. Eating healthy is a lot harder than it should be. I've tried to alter my diet recently because I've been being lazy and eating out of convenience. Not surprisingly, I've also been feeling terrible.

Have you ever looked at whats actually in stuff on the shelves?

It amazes me that people still think that fat, or carbs are bad for you. Every bring should be had in moderation, but the simple truth is still to eat less calories than you burn if you are trying to lose weight, eat the same if you want to maintain weight, and eat more if you want to gain weight.

Also stop doing mindless hours of LISS and start doing weight training and HIIT.

Oh and sadly you have to cut down on the alcohol.

Yet here you are trashing a group of people who struggle with weight.

Classy. I'd rather be fat and losing weight than be an ex dope head always one Mississippi half step away from being a junkie again.

I just find it much easier to eat a low carb diet. Protein and fats are just much more filling and I feel better eating a high protein high fiber diet.

I'm assuming you have just dropped your calories.

We feel more satiated in keto, so you eat less and lose weight.

I don't count my macros but I eat at least 100-150g of carbs per day. And these are typically "bad" carbs.

Just started and I feel completely stuffed after dinner.

That fine if it's you preference. I just don't care for when people say you HAVE to have low carb or low fat diets. That's BS.

Also carbs are more filling than fats, but obviously everyone should be trying to get a lot of protein and fiber in their diet.

Not for me and most people that I talk to. I find carbs cause to me to be hungry again after a few hours.

This is a false construct. If you accept that sugar is basically a low-grade poison, then why would you want to have it "in moderation"?

For weight, yes, calories matter. However, the reason to avoid sugar/carbs goes way beyond weight. In fact, weight is likely to take care of itself if you cut the carbs way down.

Not really. Distilled spirits are basically very keto-friendly.

Why fiber? Is it because it is an essential nutrient for the body?

I guess it depends on the individual but this is the first time I have heard someone make this claim.

This is completely false. You may feel full for 30-45mins but you'll be hungry again much sooner.

Example: Eat a bowl of cereal & milk for breakfast at 6am. Usually hungry again by 9:30am or sooner.

Eat eggs & bacon at 6am and you'll be full past lunchtime.

I can tell when I've accidentally eaten too many carbs b/c I'll be starving. I'm never hungry when just eating fat & protein.
