Interesting NY Times Article that goes into how the sugar industry paid off Harvard researchers to blame fat instead of sugar.

Philistine. Why are you anti-science?

Well by all means get up to 300 pounds and try to lose it all off without exercise and let me know how that works out for you

Very well actually.

If you're 300lbs and are starting a plan to lose weight the last thing you want to do is injure yourself trying to exercise with that much weight.

Get the food under control; gradually introduce exercise after you've dropped 50lbs instead of risking a serious injury before you've even started.

Thanks for playing though.

I'm just saying people that think they will lose weight by eating 500 less calories of whatever their typical diet consists of without exercising are absurd

Hai, I'm doing keto for the past month. Feel great and dropped about 20lbs.

Probably will start adding back in fruits at some point but I really think sugar is a major player in health living. I'm getting a physical soon, so we'll see how my numbers are.

I think you can certainly go by macros and total calories, work out, and already be in good shape and start that way eating basically whatever you want in moderation.

I'd be interested to know your numbers though.

Hope you aren't serious. I actually feel bad for you. They don't excercise at all on the biggest loser?

You are a jackass

Funny you cut it off.

Show me someone who has successfully lost weight more than 10-20 pounds and kept it off long term more than a year just by eating healthy and not getting at least 30 minutes of exercsie a day.

I'll wait

Do they keep the same healthy diet over the course of the year?

you are a jackass for believing that the one hour show you see is an accurate depiction of what ACTUALLY happens for the entire week, which has been well documented--lotta diuretics taken, unsustainable levels and amounts of exercise, and crazy starvation.

CAD can be annoying with his anti-amazon schtick, but he's right on this issue. diet is 75%+ (not an exact number, but an illustration) of weight loss. it's WAY WAY more important than exercise. there's a clip on youtube in which a trainer says that 90% of it is diet, NOT exercise

Literally 100's of millions people have lost 10-20 pounds through diet alone and kept it off for longer than a year. Are you fricking mentally handicapped or something?

You actually believe TBL is real?

You may consider educating yourself on what actually takes place on that show. Good thing we have The Google.

What point have I made in this thread you feel is in error?

Go on, I'll wait. I look forward to your fact-filled rebuttal.

Sugar and salt are the culprits more so than fat in causing health problems
