Sure did, we were poor. I traveled for work, engineer at UL, so I kind of feel like I saw the worst parts of Cali too. We've been back on anniversary trips were we got to do it up a bit better...stay in nice hotels and eat expensively...but we still just mostly explored on foot.
My son's been to Disney in Orlando many times, I wouldn't even consider that on a Cali trip. We're planning another one and its the northern coast this time.

Thanks for the update, nice to know Abe Simpson is alive and kicking.
Way to pinch those bees, and I detest Disney parks.

Get this...$169 and every line is a two hour wait! They are printing money over there.

The high prices are meant to keep the locals out
Locals will balk at a $169 ticket, but people traveling from out of town to go won't have as much of a problem

You balk at the price but have you gone to ANY college or professional football game? You are going to pay a pretty penny for three hours of entertainment. Now, as others have said, the parks are not geared toward the one day park ticket. The more days you buy, the lower the overall cost.

125$ for one day in one park. For a family of four or more that's some serious cash.
Park tickets drop dramatically if you stay multiple days. I think it is a little over $400/person for 6 day park hopper passes. Booking a trip for Mardi Gras 2018 and tickets alone for my family of 5 will be in the $2,000 range for 6 days of tickets.

It's fun for a day.
My moms work sent her there for a conference and gave her 2 one week passes for Disneyland and the California Adventure or whatever the other park is. Well she let my dad and I go on the trip and take the passes because she's been plenty of times. We went on the first day and had a blast. And 2 hours into the second day, we were tired of lines so we just went sight seeing and had fun downtown. Got lost in the mountains and wound up having a crazy view of LA at sunset. Definitely go to Disneyland, but I wouldn't spend more than a day. The weather over there is awesome in the summer. It was 80°, but felt like 70.
It was mind blowing for me to be outside when it was 80° and not sweat at all.

That's about what it would cost to attend an NFL game these days and those are only 3-4 hrs. In that context, it's a value.

t's priced as something you go to once Every 10 years ... if they charged too little you'd be able to tell

There is no fricking way your park is worth that much.
The attendance numbers disagree.

Disney is for homos and children

Disney is running a special. 4 parks, 4 days for $269

It's the market bro. They charge it because they can. Can't fault them for that.
However, I can make a list of 50 things I'd rather do with $169 and lighting a $69 cigar with a $100 bill would be higher on the list than the fricking mouse.

Go to Knott's Berry Farm and quit bitching.

Universal Studios is cheaper (not by much), closer to Pasadena, and a hell of a lot more fun than Disney.

I want to say California schools are also on Christmas Break still. Their break started the week after Christmas.

It isn't something I'm going to do that often, and will splurge when we do go. We took our daughter for her 5th birthday, and only spent a day at the park. Southwest $69 flights, a day at the resort, a day at the park, and a day in downtown Disney. Whole trip was about $1,200. $300 for park tickets, about $450 in flights, around $275 for 3 nights at a value resort, and the rest as spending money and meals. I don't understand why my friend take their kids and do 3-4 days of the parks. One day at Magic Kingdom is all I can handle, and to add the other parks and extra nights at hotels adds up quickly. Yeah if your kids are older you can do Universal and things that appeal to them, but taking a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old around for 3-4 days is torture.
