The thing that’s crazy to me is that apparently a lot of young married couples keep separate bank accounts and (this is the crazy part) expect each other to pay each other back for expenses of daily living. Like I paid the water bill you pay me half, I bought groceries, you pay me half. Is this really a thing? A partner of mine was telling me his young son and his wife are like this and all their friends are. That sounds like an insane and MISERABLE way to live life especially with a spouse for gods sake!!!

As a kid....never, except for one Grandmother
Now...always, probably too much, but I want my kid to know without a doubt he is loved.

My octogenarian parents will say it to me before hanging up the phone and welcome me with a hug when they see me now, but I don't remember a lot of I Love Yous or hugs growing up. Mostly we were a sit still with your hands in your lap family. Don't speak unless spoken to.

With my own kids/spouse all the time.

My wife and I say I love you to each other constantly, every time one of us is leaving and every time we hang up the phone or text. I say it to my son, parents, siblings, cousins and even friends when hanging up the phone. As I age I feel it's important to let people know they are loved and that someone cares about them. You never know when that one phrase could make a change in somebody's day or even in their life.

I think I’ve heard those words from my dad 3 times in my life. I’m 57 so I’d say rarely.

My kids hear it all the time. They also hear “you know I love you right?” To the point of I say “you know” one of my girls will say “you love me”.
