I prefer staleKrackers Cajun two step.
Tony’s is over rated.

Not really, I use garlic powder, oregano, and salt and pepper.

9 out 10 people on this thread have a can somewhere in a cabinet. You may not know it, but it's there.

Great deflection. Key sign of losing.
Imagine thinking you’re “winning” in a thread about fricking salt, where what you said didn’t even make a lick of sense.
Oof

tony's, slap ya mama, and other cajun/creole seasonings are pretty common throughout the country now.
Especially since every culinary influencer seems to immediately start peddling their own seasoning mix. That must be one of the easiest products to label and sell as your own.

Not in terms of people buying it en masse. They do have a couple of them at Publix by my house though but I don’t even buy it at this point. Just mix my own seasonings.

It's in stores nationwide.
Actually a world brand. It's popular in Iraq (due to soldiers from Louisiana sharing their care packages with civilians).

How prevalent is Tony’s seasoning in non-Louisiana households?
The last time my bride and I went to Las Vegas we decided to splurge one night and eat at an exclusive "French" restaurant. When our food was served I pulled out my travel sized Tony's shaker and put it on my entree.
Immediately our server came to the table and inquired what was I putting on their food. I told him and about 2 minutes later the head chef came to our table and asked about what we put on "his" dish.
Again I explained a little about Tony's and how we took it with us when we traveled.
At first he seemed a bit outdone that his creation needed a flavor enhancer additive but after a couple of minutes he asked if he could have some of our Tony's and produced a small zip lock baggie to put it in.
I told him he could just have the whole box of Tony's since we were leaving the next morning and I assured him we had plenty of it at home.
I've wondered ever since then if he added Tony's to his meal preparations after that...

Growing up in Wisconsin, my Dad had it. I have it too, but I lived in Louisiana for 6 years

I ran a bar with a kitchen for a while.... I kept a 50/50 mix of Tonys and Slap yo mama hot for our staple seasoning.
Today I have created my own spice. (Which shall remain secret until I have it marketed.) btw- anybody want to go into the spice bidnuss?

It’s definitely much less prevalent. I have my own Tony’s at my in laws and I’m the only one that uses it.

I don't usually care for premade seasonings, but Tony's is ok. But Cajun seasoning is one that I do like to buy and zaterans blackened seasoning is my favorite. Prob bc of the msg but it's so good. Slap you momma might be next best or the stale cracker one. I do like the dan'o's seasoning to.
I'm definitely open to a good Cajun seasoning that is better than the zaterans, if y'all know of one.

In Georgia I see it all over the place. Staple in my house.

I also like Targil’s seasonings out of Opelousas

Tony's has turned into a general term for cajun seasoning, like kleenex.
Say what you want about it, but it is what it is.

Tony's is just common in the southeast.
Until the last 10 years or so any pre-mixed Cajun seasoning wasn't easy to find. Lots of people I knew, always brought it back.
Also, it's pretty uncommon for anyone not from the Gulf Coast to have any Cajun seasoning at all in their spice rack.... So, it's a good little gift to bring back for friends.
Recently, Cajun seasoning mixes by big companies like Frontier and MacCormick are pretty common to find in the spice section of urban supermarkets.
