My office is pretty lax. There are only about 12 of us here on a daily basis. My boss makes inappropriate jokes all the time, but the women laugh and join in, giving as good as they get.

It's a nice, relaxed atmosphere that I thoroughly enjoy.

So, is your office a relaxed and fun place to work or a draconian, HR-ruled nightmare?

Can it be relaxed but not fun? I think that's my category.

I work in HR. Our department is small and likely the worst offenders.

I love where I work. It's mostly relaxed, casual and easy-going. But, it's in L.A., so it's fairly liberal. Being 1 of 2 conservatives, I just avoid political discussions.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most PC, we are 1.

Not at all PC and it's awesome.

Quite conservative, and filled with Aggies and Spurs fans.

Basically tailor made for me

Outside of 4 of us who will transition to work from home, all 75 people here are getting laid off in 2 months and they are closing the site down.

No one here gives a frick what they say or do anymore. HR is letting it go.

I have felt pretty lucky over my life as i have worked in a couple different places that have been really chill as far as people getting offended.

Basically, i mean we pretty much mess with each other about each other’s skin color, culture, and food jokes.

No one ever gets butt hurt. Everyone gets a great laugh about it. Never really figured out why this doesn’t happen everywhere. It’s makes it way easier to work in a multi race business if you can bust each other’s chops over stuff.

not.

example: ***guy brings a self balancing scooter to work. one of the ladies in the office was riding it***

lady: oh this is fun. hey, D******, you wanna ride?"

his response: "absolutely. my place or yours? wait.... what are we talking about here?

See, I hate this kind of identity politics. If a gay person says something inappropriate nobody bats an eye.

I make drinks for rich, old white people from Alabama. Take a guess.

Classes are a different story.

Work from home now but worked in a 5 person (all white males 25-50) in Birmingham that was extremely lax. Now the boss's wife works in the office so I'd imagine it has toned down a little bit... Sad!
