I do consulting work onsite in a federal agency office - political talk is a big no-no here.

Personally I steer away from political or religious talk in the work place. People have their own opinions and I may be old fashioned ,but in the work place people should just keep political opinions to themselves.

Now it is your turn to throw out a useless fact that has nothing to do with how you win an election or this thread.

Selling stuff on Facebook doesn’t make you an entrepreneur

Any time my boss brings up politics or anyone else for that matter I just nod and agree.

Even though I know most of my coworkers are conservative, politics never comes up. It's just not something that should be discussed in a professional office environment.

Floor workers are conservative, sales force is liberal. It’s a fricking ball.

Have a couple of coworkers who regularly bring it up. It's always innapropriate. I try to avoid it, but sometimes they drag me in, and I have to try to be diplomatic when really I would rather talk about movies or sports if anything with them.

I effing hate it. Politics do not belong in the office. I hate politicians on both sides so inevitably I end up hating my coworkers who are on either side. Issues aren't as black and white as simple minded right and left folks try to make it.

I would rather hear about kid school projects, older workers health issues, or the relationship problems of the office ladies before I want to hear any coworkers political opinions.

Agreed. I have no desire or interest to discuss politics with coworkers.

Early in my work life I learned never to bring up religion or politics on the job. Keep you opinion to yourself when it comes down to these two.

I'm the big sports guy in my office and whenever someone tries to talk sports to me I can immediately tell they don't know what they're talking about. It's mostly Tulane grads and sometimes one of them will tell me how pleased he is with Orgeron and how great of a guy he is. He isn't trolling. It's hard to refocus on work after that when being reminded he's the head of our football program drives me to sobbing in the bathroom.

I refuse to tell anybody at work really my thoughts on anything political directly. Depending who I talk to will be who they think I side with.

I don't really know how it's working out for me but I've realized many people are complete idiots.
