I know that's a LONG way off to worry about, but being a grandparent is part of the family experience. I'd hate to be too old to give quality time to my grandkids.
I completely understand. Two of my grandparents were already gone by the time I was born. My last grandfather died in his 80s when I was 8, and my grandma lived to 96 (I was 23). It was a bummer not to have “young” grandparents, but on the other hand, it’s all I knew. If I could choose differently, I definitely would’ve had kids younger. I highly recommend not waiting if people are ready when they’re younger.

I’m 43 and got a chick pregnant on a work trip a few months ago. I told her to take care of it, then ghosted her so who knows.

I was 36, wife (now ex-wife) was 38.
This child, my last, is now a senior at LSU. So I move from ~60% empty nester to 100% in months.
I've enjoyed raising them, and I will enjoy all of them being on their own too...

I’m 37 (wife 39) with a 4 year old and a 13 hour old. Time to book the snip snip!

Agree with this.
One of my wife's long time friends got married right out of college when they were both 22. Had their first at 23. Had their fourth and final kid at 30.
They'll be empty nesters before they turn 50.
I used to think they were crazy, but now that I'm actually hitting middle aged, I'm realizing how young it actually can be. 48 in good health and finished with child rearing? That would be nice.
Now, he has a very high paying job, so she was able to stay home for their little years and only work part time at a preschool now that they're older. For most people, having kids in their early 20s is difficult financially.
