Never. I get them at the bank occasionally and give them to the kids for Christmas.

It's been years since I've seen a fifty, the bank gave me an envelope of them one time when I was withdrawing some money. I found a two dollar bill the other day that I stashed away years ago, along with a bicentennial quarter.

Years ago I heard the $50 called a “Rich man’s $20”

They are shy creatures and not given to wanting to be noticed all that much.

The scrap metal yard I haul junk from the farm to gives you a receipt with a code if it’s under 500 dollars and you scan it at an ATM on site and it pays in 50 dollar bills

I keep 100-200 in cash on me, my bank has 50’s in the ATM so that’s what I usually select for cash.

I typically carry one in my wallet for good luck…

Hell, I rarely come across a $1 bill any longer. About the only time I use cash is if we’re going to a Friday night HS football game. We’ll go through the ATM and get some cash for the concession stand. But even there we usually order our tickets online.

They should really bring back the $500 bill:

the ATM at the bank closest to my house has fifties as an option when withdrawing money, I usually get a few for the cleaning lady

1) How often do y'all come across a $50 dollar bill?
2) If you are a $50 bill spender, where are you usually getting them from?
$50 bills have become really common the last few years in NYC. I have a shop and as many $50s now come in as $100s.
Most ATMs dispense $50s now and a lot of people choose them, probably to not have so many $20s.

Easy way to clear out a baccarat table. Drop some 50 dollar bills on the table.

I have 5 50's in my wallet right now. I usually keep around $300-$500 cash on me at all times and the ATM by the house has the option to get 50s. I wish it had the option for 100s it would make things a little easier.
Why do I keep that much cash? I broke down in West Virginia once about 20 years ago and the tow truck and mechanic didn't take cards. It was a real pain in the arse to get that all resolved. So now I keep the cost of a random repair on me at all times.
