Space age aero gel and micro carbon fiber son. Minus water or gear that demo is only 300 pounds more than a traditional bed..

I straight made that up.. No idea what that weighs.

Why would you buy that on a taco? Why not just get a truck camper? Lot more practical. I mean it’s cool but if I had the money to buy that just as an extra vehicle I’d buy something better.

It’s a nod to the Toyota Chinooks of the 70s & 80s.

I like how the wife and kid is in the background but it doesn’t have a back seat. Were those old Toyota’s 3 across the front seat or just 2?0

Probably a bench, but the family would have rode in the camper back then.

Looks like the bed is on top the cab, you lay with your head over the windshield and your feet going to the bed.

Apparently that’s the only one they made it’s not for sale to the public yet. Apparently it was very popular so hopefully they decide to produce them.

That’s a perfect vehicle for deer camp and hunting trips

back in the 70s Toyota made a “mini RV” similar to this called the chinook. yet another reminder that the cool shite we have now is nothing compared to the cool shite we used to have

We rented a Chinook back in the day for a weekend trip. It was loaded with people and gear. I drove and took a tent so I wouldn't be cooped up in the back of that thing. It was a good decision.

It was not fast, with a four-banger, and winds would make it shake and shimmy, but it was a pretty cool, if unwieldy thing.

I imagine a Taco would provide more power and a more stable platform than a 70s-era Hi-Lux -- which, pound for pound were among the toughest trucks ever.
