The people who get in a bind are the ones who borrow $60k a year to go to Baylor or Stanford and get an elementary education degree, then get a job that pays 45k forever

$0. schollies, side jobs and small muntly from Dad covered college and law school.

My two roomies that went to med school got their student loan debt paid off by employer. I guess being stuck in Eunice/Tupelo for 5 years is worth that.

I think I'm down to about 5k. I could pay it off within the year if I really wanted to, but I'm trying to stretch it out so I can keep a line of credit open.

My wife and I started with 90k five years ago. I'll be done with this next year. With the extra payments to get pmi off our mortgage and the extra payments to student loans, I'll be getting almost 4k more a month in expendable income.

And another twit. Those who get a bs or higher education and pay with a student loan should choose a career in which they can afford the loan payments. They obviously aren't advancing their life if they voluntarily sign up for a huge to debt and end up in a career in which they cannot afford to pay back the loans....they simply are making a piss poor investment.

I make more a year than I owe, so at least there's that.

I have <$13k left and started with ~$20k in July. I'll probably stretch the rest out for 10 years with the 3.X interest rate on the remaining loans.
