No it doesnt. in fact they(Hemis) fit perfectly in the current models. LS motors fit even better. Only major obstetrical is they use different engine mounts. I have a 6.4 in my JK.

They're definitely not paying with the power train from a Jeep product because that's not worth anything.

They defy logic. They don't ride that well, they aren't efficient, they are slow, and get terrible reviews. Yet, people can't stop buying them.

It's almost an enthusiast car.

I will say, looking at the new features it's almost like Jeep went down a list and checked off every line of customer wants.

Can't wait to see what the gearing and suspension are like. Simple gear change will make these things plenty quick.

2. Jeep won't produce a Rubicon capability in a 'sport' package, meaning fewer bells and whistles. If they dropped all the "fancy" stuff and gave you the Rubicon performance, they could sticker it around $40k and it would likely become a top 10 selling vehicle in the nation.

You can get a Rubicon for 40k...

And will likely be close to $60k.

My first car was a CJ8 Scrambler, have had a Jeep since I was 15, currently DD a TJ, but there is no way I would pay $60k for a new Wrangler.

It will sell however.

Because if you want a stripped down model that is actually capable, you are going to use aftermarket instead of any of the Rubicon's "performance" parts. Jeep/Fiat knows this.

Diesels are pretty much a $10k option on cars now, so easily $60k

$41k, but it doesn't play into their story if them being overly expensive.

Will they fit with all the emissions equipment?

If Doug’s review is accurate, that is essentially what they did. The JL rides better, is more efficient, and is a little quicker. Doug mentions the crawl gearing, think he said it was like 70-something:1. Highway gearing should be better with the 8 speed behind the V6 now. The 8 speed has good short gearing in the first 3 gears.

You will have as much luck finding a unicorn as finding a new Rubicon for $41k or less.

The new Wrangler sees a $2500 base price jump, higher trim levels will see more.

Going buy it day 1? No doubt. Give it a few months or just go order one.

Yes, the hemis are pretty much plug and play, just need to flash the computer, and change the motor mounts, and a few hard lines with new bends.

LS's are a bit harder, need two computers, but they even pass cali emissions/inspections now with them

Agreed. But it would be nice for them to make the D44 standard. The 35 is fine, but having a 44 front and back would be great. Especially in the unlimited models. I think they've gone to the 44 rear in most of the JK/JKU models now.

44 is standard in virtually ever model for rear end.

44 is standard on rubi front.

Most people have no need for 44 front and rear.

There are a few dealers around the country that do 5%-7% under invoice.

I ran my 95 YJ into the ground. It was an absolute tank.

My 04 LJ was still purring like a kitten whenever it was sold

My husband ordered a brand new Rubicon Hardrock Unlimited with all of the features he wanted (leather, towing, heated seats, manual, etc) 2 years ago. His was around 40k iirc. Course...maybe him getting a manual transmission (which you can only really get now if you specially order) lowered the price?
