When were Jeeps ever reliable? They were always underpowered pieces of shite
Mine has more pickup than my F150.

I'm not touching another Wrangler until they offer a V-8
The Straight 6 is a good engine. What they need to do is drop in a robust 4cyl diesel. A Rubicon would be the equal of any Land Rover, perhaps better, with a hardy diesel engine in it.
A V8 takes up too much room in the engine bay also.

Not reliable? 42k miles on my 2016 rubi. Absolutely no issues been on and off road

loved my JK but it was pathetic trying to merge on the interstate or even fight a head wind
Must have had a 2011 or older before they went with the solid pentastar engine.

Got it coming in the JL.
Later on will have 6 cylinder diesel, with 400+lbs of torque. Oh mama.

There are only two problems with Jeeps
1. Have become even more popular than they were so price keeps getting too high. New '18 Rubicon fully loaded is probably a $60k vehicle. That's too much. Way too much.
2. Jeep won't produce a Rubicon capability in a 'sport' package, meaning fewer bells and whistles. If they dropped all the "fancy" stuff and gave you the Rubicon performance, they could sticker it around $40k and it would likely become a top 10 selling vehicle in the nation.

I’m hoping Ford nails it with the new Bronco. Wranglers have been taken over by bull dykes with pink initial and salt life decals.

Women should not be allowed to own Jeeps. Or vote.

Buying a jeep at 40K+ would just be a mall crawler. Would be nuts to used it were I go with my old XJ.
I'm fixing to start chopping up my XJ for just off roading.

I agree that it’s expensive, but the resale reflects the high msrp. Basically the same thing people praise Toyota for in every other vehicle thread.

Buddy of mine in collage had one of these on 35" Swampers. That hunk of metal was a beast. We got shite house wasted one night at Bogies and drove it through the pond at the Sterling Apartments. Full disclosure here, at that time they were brand new and only about half full. Regardless, the cops did not find it too funny nor did some chick we almost hit fishtailing out the other side. Those ruts were still visible a year later.

quote:LOL. Jeep has set sales and market share records year after year for 5+ years straight. I've never understood the Jeep hate on this board. If you don't like them fine, but don't be ignorant.
The Jeep brand has suffered.
