Pizza delivery- $5.00

I consider myself a good tipper, but I still only do $3.00 per delivery. I get deliveries pretty often, though.

Restaurant- 20% maybe more w/ free app or drink

~20% for nice restaurants, up to 50% for the Denny's type restaurants. I 100% support the tipping system, but I don't see why equal caliber waitresses at a Denny's vs a Ruth's Chris should get significantly different tips, even if the former has tattoos and smells like my gamgam's closet.

Not half the tax, just 50%.

I leaned that little trick on the OT.

Like getting the best gas mileage going 100mph. Or was it 0? I can't remember. And 288 and 10 are good guesses in math order of iteration issues.

Damn,I go out to eat to enjoy it, not to do some sort of complex multivariate analysis.

It's a simple weighted system

Take too long to take my order or address that I'm here, take a little bit off

Look filthy, get my order wrong, or have a shite attitude... i take a little more off

I'm not doin intense math at the table... it's just a ballpark amount of what I care about, and how much it'll cost or reward them

BTW: tips is an acronym for everyone who didn't know

To Insure Prompt Service

Originally started at a coffee house in England, there was a jar at the register with T.I.P.S. written on it... the customer would pay, and put their change in the jar to make sure their order comes out correct and in a timely manner... it's insurance for good service

The more you know...

I tip based on effort and attitude regardless of quality of food. I dont base it on what I bought. Ate a 10 dollar breakfast at a hole in the wall and tipped 10 because she was friendly, attentive, brought me a fresh drink when i got under a half a cup and checked on us 2 two additional times.

Dont punish the waitress because the cook sucks. Let her know the food was shitty, but her service was excellent.

I've been a server for 3 and a half years and I hate when you people start these topics. 90 percent of y'all are 5 dollar tippers regardless of service.

20-25%. Unless I'm drunk at which time that number could easily double.

This. It should be borderline insta-ban to make another one of these threads.

Chicken should have a thread with a vote to tally results.

Then post the results as a permanent resource.

Always use a 20% rule except I may toss out a much higher %age on a low cost sit down meal based on how I feel about the waiter/waitress/restaurant.

10% on to go or pickup.

Ditto on your last statement.

I had a waitress with a nose ring and that fake purple hair the other day and of course she had a surly attitude and was stingy with the lemon wedges, so I left her a $20-

A gospel tract designed to look like 20 bucks with a passage from 2 Corinthians about being a cheerful servant. In the tip line I wrote "here's a tip, this is trumps America, start acting like it!"

Nothing. Maybe a dollar if you're feeling generous
