Refuse to tip at fast food or convenience store and I don't give cash at red lights

This. It should be borderline insta-ban to make another one of these threads.

I keep a running tally at restaurants based on performance

Start at 15%

Major factors of consideration

Timely drink order/refills +/- 1%
Timely food order +/- 1%
Attitude +/- 2%
Order accuracy (subjective) +/- 2%
Cleanliness +/- 2%
Attentiveness +/- 2%

Hardly anybody ever gets the full extra 10%, but it's a decent gauge of performance based tipping

* order accuracy can be kitchen's fault, but usually they will let you know who messed up... freebies will boost score in this category

I start at 20% and just do that unless I get really good or bad service. Takeout orders are a $1 or $2 tip.

Depends on breast size and how much is showing. I've left huge tips on a table for waitresses showing lots of cleavage.

20% is usually the base though and goes up from there. Rarely goes below unless there is dogshit service.

What's wrong with 3 bucks for to go pick up?

The kitchen (who isn't getting the tip) literally handed the food in to go containers to the hostess/bar/server... whatever it may be.

How much should I pay the person who throws a few styrofoam containers in a bag and chucks in plastic utensils and a napkin?

Damn,I go out to eat to enjoy it, not to do some sort of complex multivariate analysis.

I tip pretty good unless they really suck, partly consider it my charitable donation and I really appreciate people who are enthusiastic about something I would not want to do.

$0 at places where you will not go semi-regularly. You've already gotten everything you need and will not be there again anytime soon. Why give money away now?

This is easy.

Just look at the tax and multiply that by 50%. If the waitress is cute, I might even throw in the change.

Counter service places are not tipping situations. Sonic gets the coin change. Pizza, if hot gets $4 per pie.

Chick who cuts my hair gets $10 if I'm not bleeding afterwards. Maybe more if blood was involved.
