Yep. We used to do it as well. You got to know your regular carriers. They were friendly and looked out for you. And the garbage men -- they took EVERYTHING away. They didn't have to.
Sometimes we'd gift those little airline bottles of booze and an envelop.

I’ll get him a case of Gatorade.

Do your mail carriers also leave an Xmas card in a blanck envelop expecting you to put cash in it for them to pick up on the next day? Ours does every year.
What will they do if you dont tip, refuse to bring the junk mail?

You sound like a real jerk off...Do you not realize they don't make a living wage unless they get tips?

I don’t who my mail carrier is.

If you do this, then where does it end? At what point do you draw the line?
Do you not have people who perform a regular service for you throughout the year? It ends with those people. I generally tip my barber, our mailman, and our garbage men. Around $200 in the aggregate to show my appreciation for a few people once a year hardly seems like a burden.

So he’s a “POS MF’er” because no one sends you any important mail therefore he doesn’t deliver anything of value to you?
That’s rational

I don’t know. Have you seen some of that guy’s other posts? It’s either a routine that he’s dedicated himself to for a while, or he’s close to being retarded.

No I didn't check out his history. It was such a dumb response; I figured it had to be someone trolling!

My mother is in her 80s in a somewhat rural area and USPS is a Godsend.
Her regular driver goes out of her way to bring any packages to the front porch instead of the closer carport door so my mom doesn't have to carry them up the inside stairs.
Always checks with her to see if she needs stamps to save her a trip to the post office.
She's knocked on the door to check on her a few times when my mom hadn't been out to get the mail for a couple of days.
I always leave her a gift card to a local restaurant in a Christmas card since I also appreciate that there are still two non fast food chains in town.

With the Holy Day (holiday) season our letter carrier runs (after 6PM) late so I get to see him/her.
I noticed that it is a Different person each day.

If he asks for a tip, after the pay and federal benefits he receives, for driving a golf cart......yeah, that makes him a HUGE POS to me.
You do you....beotch

Xmas
What is Xmas? Abdvto answer your question, I don’t ever even see my mail carrier except for maybe once/month, and I’ve also never heard of tipping one. No thanks for me.

I can remember when leaving something for the mailman was a thing. My mom would bake a batch of cookies for him and leave then in the mailbox. Almost everyone I knew did.

Those golf carts don’t have AC or heat. When it’s 95 in Louisiana or -5 in North Dakota those dudes are out in it. They start out making under $20 an hour and most of them with families at home have to work a lot of overtime. Many walk 10-20 miles a day in said weather. It’s a blue collar job and anyone who’s done it for a career have worn out backs, shoulders, knees and joints and missed a ton of their kids ballgames and activities working weekends.
Couldn’t care less if you tip. But I respect the job and the guys that do it.
And only a punk says “beotch”.
