2-4 hours a day, and that’s getting everything I need done
God bless WFH!!! If I was in an office , the same amount would get done. It just cuts out the BS… hearing about Tom’s son’s little
League game. People asking me how my weekend was , my shitting on the company dime, playing on my phone, etc

I go in 7 days a week. Gym, 4am. Training center 5:30-7:00 not paid. Class and study until 5. Hour drive home and study until 7. Shower, sleep and repeat. Weekends are not paid either.
Not required but my company has already invested alot of money in me advancing. If I somehow pass this next year and a half it will be worth it. I get paid a lot of money to potentially get a nuclear license.

As a “businessman”, I must sometimes provide “counseling” to my “employees.”

Most of the OT spends every minute of their 40 hour week working at 100%. Its even more if they work remotely.

I am upvoting you, sir- because you know.
When I was building my company- actually that never stops- anyhow, there was a really lucrative incentive from one of our suppliers- like put you on the map lucrative. I asked our rep “Sooo, is there a limit to this program?” “As long as the sales are booked in the program period, no limit.”
I worked 700 hours in 40 days. Ended up in the hospital because of it. Doctor told me “You know, it’s possible to work yourself to death, right?”
“Yeah Doc, but these MF’ers at our supplier had to turn their incentive program off because of me.”
When the dust settled, the supplier rep told me….”Your one location sold more product than the whole country of Canada during that period”

when I’m at work I work, only stop for a restroom break
This is true for me as well.
I'd work 8 straight, gun to gun, with one 10 minute break (to take the edge of hunger) and kept rolling.
It worked well and made the days fly by.

Average of 8-10 hours a week of meetings (team meeting, project meetings, mentorship for junior level employees). Average of 10-15 hours a week of hands on work (repairing something, troubleshooting something, installing something). Average of 10 hours a week of admin tasks (assigning tickets to team, reviewing tickets, generating reports, analyzing reports/metrics). 2-5 hours a week of email.
So 30-40 hours a week.
So 30-40 hours a week.

I think after about 10-hours, productivity will drop markedly due to fatigue (mental or physical depending on the work.

During my busy season, it can be probably as high as 60 hours a week (maybe a little less). Outside of busy season, usually, it's much more needs-based. So it can be a lot, it can barely anything, just depends on my clients and if they are requesting my help or not during those quieter times.

I'm never not working.

Depends on the test cycle.
Sometimes it is a 10 hour day for 6 of 7 days if we're behind.
Other times sit at the desk all day doing nothing waiting for the drop of the next software update.
Or, sitting at the test console, pushing a button or entering a command to start the simulation, sitting while the sim ran, download and analyze the results, rinse and repeat for 9 hours.

With a defined payoff, it's pretty easy (for the motivated) to see the finish line and sprint like a mofo for limited periods of time.

Sometimes, you just have to do what you need to do to get it done. I own a business that is seasonal. I must not stop during the good season. I can rest later.

yea I usually am a true 12 hours of work per week on average.....then 10 hours of meetings, 5 hours of emails and the rest is BS time
Posted on 6/1/26 at 7:52 am to boogiewoogie1978
Depends on project load, but averaging out the last 10 years or so, maybe 3 hours a day on average and that's usually all by lunch if I buckle down.

The ones that get me are the ones that work 9-5 and say that's 40 hrs.
It is if you never take any breaks or lunches.
