Math is way off on your part. Plus living in post tax investments until Medicare so income next to nothing. Damn near free Obamacare. FWIW, haven’t been to a doctor since I was 14.

After bills, about $500. The rest (1 year expenses- I’m self-employed) is in easily accessible savings that’s in laddered CDs and S&P funds.
Funny story- I had it all except $10K in CDs for a while, and after the S&P was up 10 or 11 weeks in a row, I finally decided to buy VOOG and make a little more money…it’s been even or down every week since then

Define "keep" as it never stays long....
I use 3 account system.
1.) Local Bank -- All recuring bills Home/Vehicle bills are payed . Account. All auto payment method. I keep ~ 2 months worth in this account.
2.) HYCA -- Rest of my money gets dropped here 1st.
3) Fun money account -- Trips and Sugarbabes mostly.
