I think it was a segment on 60 mins, but it was about this older guy who had many large plastic storage boxes filled with dog toys. Each toy was different, whether it was shape, color, size, etc, but he taught his dog to recognize each toy.

He pulled out a storage bin, dumped it on the floor and would name the toy he wanted the dog to get (each toy had a one name, name). The dog would get in the middle of the toys and find the toy he named. It was impressive, but I remember reading that a dog's brain, in many ways are equivalent to a 2 year old human.

Bout tree fiddy. He is also very good at picking up on the slightest changes in tone.

Cats are racist by nature.

Have a Westie who is tremendously smart, and understands English and Spanish.

Have a stupid white lab that understands only expletives in Spanish and is functional in English, and a brown lab that has a great grasp of both languages.

The Westie takes the cake, the white lab is beautiful, and the brown lab, is too smart for his own good and thinks he´s a lap dog.

ETA The black lab in the photo is a frequent visitor, and only wants to eat.

I guess the most impressive thing I've taught her is to find my keys. I'm bad about throwing them wherever I stop when I go into house. She can find them in a no time. I use a whilstle and hand signals for most of the hunting stuff. I don't know what all my daughter has taught her, but she does some cool pet tricks.
