Not gonna lie-the time, money, having to take pictures, etc. of being a groomsman kind of sucks. But you do it because you're a good friend.

Probably, like, 100.

I've only been Best Man at 2 weddings and both of them were for the same guy.
He got married not long after high school, she cheated on him and they divorced. We were out together one night hitting some clubs and he met his 2nd wife, dated for a couple years and eventually got married.
Unfortunately, she died a couple years ago after they had been married over 40 years.

Groomsman in 5 weddings, should have only been in 4, one of them caught me off guard.
Was an usher in 1 where I should have been a groomsman, hurt my feelings for sure.

I was only a groomsman once. The rest of my close friends either did the justice of the peace or Vegas thing.

Should have been 3, but the bride called the wedding off.
Then I married her a few years later.

2, and even then wasn't really a groomsman as both were more modified elopements than anything. I don't have any groomsman for my wedding either, just going to the courthouse with our parents and signing the paperwork.

Same.

I have a massive girlfriend group, but we're old at this point. They're all either never married or divorced. The childhood friends who got married years ago all went nontraditional (eloping, etc.).
We had a bigger traditional wedding, but no wedding parties. Again, because we are old and people have other shite to worry about.

Always the bride never the bridesmaid.
True story.
Eta: I have also never had bridesmaids or groomsmen at my own weddings

This only happens when you baws have 12 groomsmen. It's ridiculous. Why would anyone want more than 4-6 max?
Have you ever met a woman? The only reason there are "12 groomsmen" is because the bride wanted 12 bridesmaids.
