I'm a librarian, thank you very much for asking.
I do NOT belong to the ALA.

Quite a bit my first two years to study and use the computer lab. After that I spent most of my time in CEBA.

Late 90s early 2000s.

I was in Middleton multiple times a week. My other go-to study area was the Community Coffee by Walk-ons. I can't believe some of y'all only went 1 or 2 times a semseter

Contrary to what the dipshit professor making his vacuum quips may have you believe, there are tons of better study areas all over campus that don't leave you smelling like decade old coffee

I was a married commuter student so I used Middleton nearly everyday to study and do HW

I'd be posted in a study cubicle on the 4th floor during finals week

There are now but back in 2004-08 that wasn't the case

CEBA essentially had a few desks in the hallway

No need? Great response, keep em coming!

There is a huge need for a Library on a college campus are you being for real or trolling? Are you upset about the people talking bad about LSU Football's recent spending? Middleton is a dump and thousands of students use it regularly every day even if you didn't, believe it or not.

Was a student 85-88.

Used it to study all the time, plus had to use lots of books for papers.

And as a music major, there was a music library in the basement with listening rooms that I used frequently.

There was absolutely not better places to study...please inform me of them? CEBA had 1 computer lab downstairs that was always filled. The new business building did not exist. The Union was always noisy and packed. Where are these awesome places to study on campus you are talking about, because I do not remember them?

Maybe the problem is Middleton being such a piece of shite, more people would go if they actually put money into the place, like yourself who is afraid of smelling like coffee apparently.

it is one of the busiest buildings on campus.

LSU absolutely needs to build a modern library

Agree 100%, its funny (in a sad, pathetic way) people are making threads minimizing something so important to student life just bc they didn't use a library in their time as a student, and someone talked bad about the LSU Football team for spending money!

Ok, there are now and have been for the better part of the decade. BEC and CEBA are filled with private rooms

BEC used to not exist that long ago, and before CEBA was renovated they did not offer many private study rooms, if any at all.

Point being, the library is incredibly important for all of the resources it provides, as well as a quiet place for students to study and needs to be treated as such by the administration

I would study there during finals. Also, I knew where a private bathroom was so I would stop in to shite from time to time.

I studied there, used the printing center, or frequented the tutoring center probably about twice a week on average in undergrad. It’s a dump. It’s leaked since they built it. It’s scheduled for demolition in a few years to be replaced entirely, so there’s no reason to waste money on unnecessary repairs now.

I used Middleton a lot but then again I was at LSU in the mid 80s before the internet and cell phones.
