1,000. 3/2. 2 kids and dog.

In the right setup, 700-800 2/2 would be doable.

Last night I realized that one side of the video board in the PMAC has more square footage than my old house.

1500 total.....just my wife and I. The building is an old Tudor style 4plex built in 1929 in Lakewood area of Dallas.I bought it in 1999 when I was single. We live in a 750 s.f. upstairs unit and I have my office in the unit underneath. We rent out the other 2 units which covers all but $300 of the mortgage and taxes. Insurance is another $2500.

1990 sq. ft. Was three bedroom but we converted a formal dining area to a 4th bedroom and have 2 baths. Me, my wife, three teenage (well one is 11 but thinks she's teenage) granddaughters and one dachshund. It works really well and we do have 2.25 acres for the kids to play. Gets tight at times but it works pretty well for us. When the kids are grown we will only downsize when I get tired of cutting the yard and trimming the huge trees we have and raking all of the leaves.

I don't know what size is best for home square footage. I do believe that it is best to live as small as practicable.

Bigger homes are more difficult to heat and cool and more difficult to keep clean.

The primary house is 5230 living and the river house is 2370 living.

I honestly wouldn't mind downsizing either or both but I just can't stand the thought of moving after I swore the last time I moved I would never do it again.

Oh I dont know, maybe downsize to a different home?

This isnt about having entitled kids. I seriously doubt a 6 year old is going to feel 'entitled' enough to need his own room. Im speaking as an adult looking back in the past as a kid and was lucky to have parents that gave us separate rooms.

My brother and I were at home as an 18 year old and a 15 year old in high school. If you had the means, you wouldnt want them in their own rooms?

Around 2,500 but that includes my basement. Too much room for just the three of us. I have my basement, the wife has her craft room, our son has a playroom and his bedroom and we still have two rooms that only get used when we have company over. We could have done fine with less.

2760 sq. ft., it's just the wife and I at the moment. It's 4 bedrooms, but one of those will eventually become my office.

My 2 bedroom condo at LSU was 1200 ft and I couldnt imagine going almost half the size and adding kids and a dog.

Maybe im spoiled
