One of our kids picked one up and had figured out how to solve it. Took a few weeks of practice. Was able to complete it in about 4 minutes at best.

I can in about 3-5min. It changes because some moves you may need to do it a few times. Also if you don't do it for several months you do forget some steps..
I never figured out the triangle one. I also had a flat thing that was little squares I could never solve. You had to get the rings in order on that.

I can’t do the damn thing for more than 5 minutes

I bought one and figured it out over Christmas break in college one time watching YouTube and reading instruction that came with.
Still keep one on my desk to this day and play with during conference calls. Usually 1.5 to 2 min.

Just look up the sequence to solve it. Super easy once you know the basics. It would take you a 1000 years to just solve that on your own

I use a combo of two methods. Take me about 90 seconds if things line up correctly.

frick a Rubix cube, any of y’all ever cracked a masterlock combination lock without knowing the numbers? Tried it today and got it after about an hour
I made a rake and a tensioner out of an old windshield wiper blade one rainy day at the shop and by that afternoon could pick any Masterlock on the premises.

I'm like Alexander The Great and the Gordian Knot. I'll break that MF'er apart and then put it back together with all sides correct.

I’ve always tinkered with these but never even came close to solving one. What’s the trick?
I can snap one apart and reassemble it in about a minute no matter how badly scrambled it is. Always more than one way to skin a cat if a man needs a skint cat bad enough...

I got a set of lock picks I made out of a piece of 1/8th inch fish tape that will open just about any lock as quick as a key....keep them in a Sharpy pen with the tip cut off. Pretty good side hustle....

I can do one in about a minute. You basically make a cross on one side, solve the corners, then work your way down the sides. There's a set of algorithms to make a piece go where you want it for each step.

The western world's answer and the one that will work anytime for anyone....

I actually learned how to do it last month. It's something I always wanted to do but never took the time, so I spent time last month learning all the moves. Still takes me about 4-5 minutes though

It does.
All you have to do is get all the same colors on the same sides.
Thanks for coming to my Tedtalk.

I was more of a minesweeper kid.
Got to where I could beat the expert level in under a minute. Though, I haven’t played it in a couple of decades.
