I gave up video games when I went off for college so haven't played since the NCAA football 2012 version. It just dawned on me how much that video game actually played a critical role in my childhood. I looked forward to the release more than anything. Playing with friends. Trying to be top 300 in the nation on Xbox live for it. I'd stay up until midnight the day of the release and drive to Gamestop for a tournament that went until 3 or so AM they had, and the winner got a free copy.

Since this website oddly seems to be filled with a crowd majority over 45 years old, many might not understand. Those under 35 will understand. With this new version coming out for the season after next, I may buy a console just to play it. Consider it Pac-Man for all you over 50.
I don't even know how consoles and games work today. I hear it's all bought online.

Your experience was very similar to mine

I distinctly remember one of my best friends riding with me to gamestop at midnight so we could both grab the new copy and play it all night

Before I knew that same friend very well we'd skip class to go play tug of war in the dorms all morning

Some of the easiest/most fun I've ever had.

Yeah you just download games now straight onto the console. I don’t play as much as I did growing up but still play fifa and some older games here and there. I still have my old N64 too.

NCAA 2006 was the best NCAA. Alley Broussard was unstoppable in that game.

As long as I can cheat and provision a 6'10" TE with 99s across the board, in addition to my X and Y receivers, I'd totally do it. I bought 2014 off of eBay I think for under $15. At this point, console prices are not a deterrent with game prices ($69) where they are. That's fine, I'll pay it, but the moment EA tries to sell me downloadable "features" you get a frick off and die. Divorced baws can never just buy one copy.

Same here. I played it a ton back in the day. So much better than Madden.

scheduling, recruiting, and building new playbooks around my bluechip recruits was the best video games could get to me. i would have quarterback controversies going on in my head and settle it in the first game or two against FCS Southwest.

I still have, and play NCAA 14. Love the franchise and I may actually buy a new console when an updated game comes out

I used to love taking a small, scrub team to prominence

I created a 7 foot, 450 pound free safety who I also played at qb and kr/pr. Shoulder length gray hair and he ran a 4.1 40-yard dash.

He majored in mascots

We had Madden ‘92 tournaments in Power Hall when we were at LSU. Can’t tell you how many hours of my life was spent on that game. Shows my age too.

Looking back at it, Madden has never really been that great. Now NFL Blitz? That was a great game.

I think your ages are a few years off I’m 42, I played this game in hs and in college. I can’t tell you the collective hours spent in college playing this game and 007.
