I agree. Either a desire for attention or desire to fit in with a group.
They're pretty fricking trashy.

Depends where they are and what they are.
My exs are not trashy and in places easily covered up. They are nice looking, they were done very good, and they represent kids and graduating from school.
Now people who have complete sleeves, neck, or face tattoos need psychotherapy.

I mean, I know y'all are trolling, but are there really people under the age of 40 who think this?

If you want a tattoo, get at tattoo. However , it should be a decision well contemplated, ie, subject matter and placement. Beyond that just realize that it stays forever and be prepared that some people may be turned off by it.
As far as I'm concerned tattoos don't really bother me, bad tattoos bother me. If you're going to put some permanent ink on, be willing to spend the money to get some decent art. If you can only afford 50$, you should reconsider that tribal shoulder tat you've been dreamer about.

I have no problem with tatoos that can be fully covered. I don't think they are something that needs to be a part of the professional world, but that doesn't mean they're stupid.
I would definitely have a tatoo, or multiple ones if I didn't think I'd look dumb as shite with them. I just don't have the body or the look to pull off a sleeve or anything, IMO.
One of my good friends is super tatted up and is going to be the CEO of one of the biggest asbestos removal companies in the world when his dad steps down, so I mean it's not like it's a requirement to be tattoo free to be successful.

I agree with you, but I don't know if this is the best example.

Owning and being the CEO of a multi-million dollar company lol?
EDIT: Saw you're edit lol. I get what you're saying, but hey, he'll be raking in a lot more than many people who are against tats.

No, because it seems like it's family owned.
My bad if I'm reading that wrong.
Most corporations don't let the dad hand off the CEO spot to his kid.

All.

It's simply either a desire for attention or a desire to fit in. I was born without them and I'll die without them. I think they're trashy and stupid. I truly think less of people when I learn they have a tattoo. I mean, deep down, why would one get one other than the fact that they have an immature need to either fit in with others who have them or they're just plain fricking dumb.
That shite doesn't look good now and it won't look good in retirement.
My grandfather had the U.S. Airborne paratrooper logo/division tattoo on his arm. In fact, most of his fellow soldiers had the same tattoo. He probably thinks of you nothing more than a short, fat, red coonass. Oh yeah, and a pussy too. In fact, when he retired, it brought nothing but conversation and respect and admiration from everyone.

I try very hard not to be prejudiced against those with tattoos.
Unless you work in the field as hired manual help, don't even both showing up for the interview if you have visible tattoos.
You're a rash and bad decision maker, with no thought to how you are perceived or how your future may be impacted. I don't want people like that in my office. They aren't based in reality or stable.

He's 25 and has been working for him since he was in college, so he isn't new. I guess there's always options though!
It is family owned, but they have offices all over the country (I know this because I worked for the company during my summers in college.)
Another point on this topic is that tattoos are taboo to a lot of older individuals. Whenever that generation is gone it will be more widely accepted I'm sure.

Yes, I'm 27 and think tattoos are trashy as hell. Not every young person is trash.

I'm not trying to be an arse. That's awesome for him. And like I said, I agree with your premise.
