Do you propose we simply try to ignore 17.5 million souls?

If you go to the website here are the list of benefits
Not even a list of the "businesses" where you can get discounts. Its just a fricking library ID card.

As identification within New Orleans
To access libraries - New Orleans Library card
To access recreation centers - New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission Rec Trac card
To access discounts at participating local businesses
To interact with law enforcement officials
For situations where they need identification

If you strip away all the woke nonsense, having a multipurpose identification card doesn't sound like a bad idea. They could have just offered it up as such.

Well, that would put you in the 17,500,000. Congrats, I guess.

Good.... GTFO.... Everything we're last in rankings, we should shoot up to about the middle of the pack.....or more
Fun fact, remove New Orleans from the population and Louisiana murder rate keeps it as the top ranked.
Remove New Orleans, BR, Shreveport, Lake Charles, and Monroe and Lousiana is still Top 4.
Louisiana rural areas are just as bad as the urban. There are maybe 4 small areas that buck the trend.
Last time she tried making this card happened it led to the takedown of Smartcities and the kickback program in place.

So NOW they are capable of getting an ID?
Posted on 7/30/25 at 4:42 pm to stout
I wonder how much money they wasted putting together this program.

Why can't a state ID do that?
The answer? That card is just a stupid tax.

Y’all all missed reading the article. This is more about illegals. You can show a foreign passport or birth cert and get one. She wants to give city benefits to illegals.

Equitable access to being shot on the Crescent City Connection, damaging you car in a pothole, having you tax money diverted for luxury travel? Sign me up!

It also creates a database of illegals. Sure they are using only the top notch cybersecurity to prevent the rolls from being used by other agencies.

Monroe has worse crime per capita than New Orleans. Take New Orleans out of the state and it’s fricking Haiti.

What’s it like having a twenty dollar bill and using nineteen dollars of it for booze, cigs, and scratch offs

I remember when Parkland FL had something like this and it was deemed unconstitutional. Judge said it was the city trying to act like a private club. Will be interesting to see how the discounts are viewed legally.
