I have one. I don't use it much, but the times I have needed I was very thankful to have it

I like using my RWD 300Ds in the snow and ice because I no longer care for life.

You need to come visit Boone again before you give up completely..

Used it in rainy conditions and pulling my boat up a steep ramp.

I wish. I almost got stuck once.

Need to use it about once every two years or so
But man it would be an absolute fricked up situatjon every time I have needed it if I didn’t have it
We are talking a mile deep in the woods stuck with no cell phone coverage
That’s a long arse walk back to the camp to get the tractor

That depends on a bunch of things:
Weather: when we get snow and ice, it is a must have because this part of the country is less that perfect in snow and ice removal.
Heating the house: We cut wood from our forest and getting the wood back to the house for splitting is dependent on a flatbed towed by the 4x4. How much wood? Depends on what trees nature knocked over and how many cords we had already burned that winter.
Seldom are our fields so wet as to need tha additional traction.

I have driven 4x4 trucks exclusively for the last 30 yrs. Use it regularly.

Might put mine in 4x 5 or 6 times a day at times, other times I might go 2 months without needing it. Just depends on what I’m doing and how much it’s rained.
Also I may use it when 2 wheel drive would have worked but I’m not afraid to lock em in as a preventative measure. Why wait until I start leaving ruts to use it

There’s a zero percent chance I will ever own a pickup that’s not 4x4 unless it’s a classic truck like a 70’s or 80’s Chevy.
This.

Better to have and not need it than need it and not have it

I built a whole ramp using 4x4s as the support. of course they were treated.

I’m pretty much convinced all vehicles should be AWD.
I wouldn't go that far, but AWD has its advantages. It is exponentially better on asphalt in rain than 4WD. 4Hi in the rain is really hard on the T-case and other drivetrain parts.

It comes in handy during winter weather. I live on top of a steep hill and a 4 × 4 is necessary to get up the driveway in the snow

Have a Tacoma TRD OR, take mine to the national forest and do some light off road, not just service roads, but nothing actually tough. Mostly to just see cool places.

I have a RAM 3500 dually 4 wheel drive, and used it less than a week ago. I don't use it a lot, but when I need it, I need it. Or in other words, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I have a 99 f350 and the manual front hubs stay locked. It rarely sees the pavement.
I live rural so our 4x4s are a necessity. On the other hand I have to drive to another county to go to town. Our going to town car gets 40 mpg.
