Why are you acting like this is the first “girl power” movie to exist?
They’ve released these kinds of movies for decades. Just let the women be cute and have their fun. Keep being a high energy male, and they’ll fall back in line after the credits roll.

Me. I took my wife’s daughter last night in and snuck in some Bud Lights for us.

Some guy that I've never heard of. Gee, thanks.

if all you want is one that affirms the movie, I’m sure you can find a positive spin to focus on instead.
Aren't you doing the same thing from the other side though? Seeking sources that support your preconceived notions of the movie?

This is more for those who worry about what their child is exposed to. You know, responsible parents.
Again, if you're so concerned about it, you should see the movie and judge for yourself.

Oh, I realize the subversion has been happening for many years now. I’m still not on board though. I haven’t hoisted the flag of surrender and indifference.

is it all just harmless entertainment in the end?
Nothing Hollywood puts out is “just harmless entertainment” now. All if it is laced with leftist propaganda narratives. From an information and entertainment standpoint, America of 2023 is very much like Germany or the Soviet Union circa 1939.

Maybe Germany circa 1932.

I’m speaking in terms of all media, both news and entertainment being compelled to parrot the accepted political narrative of the party in power.

Along with 4 other couples we took a day trip to see Barbenheimer. We drove a couple of hours in order to see Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX.
I actually liked Barbie better than I thought I would. I thought it was far funnier than I expected. I didn't think much of the cuts on patriarchy since in the Barbie world Ken has always sorta been a pretty but fairly useless bit player.
If your kids are still young enough that they use movies as a template for life (or you if you have never grown out of it) then it isn't a movie they should be watching.
Had it not been for the wives in the group wanting to tag along on the Oppenheimer trip and add in lunch/dinner and Barbie I wouldn't have seen it at the theater but we all had an enjoyable trip and Barbie was far from the worst 2 hours I have spent in a theater.

Yes it’s quite normal for a father to be so up in arms about a Barbie movie.
Frickin millennials.

Actually, quite seldom these days to be honest. I don’t watch much of anything anymore these days. It’s all garbage really when you get right down to it.

Help I did such a bad job parenting it only takes one movie to brainwash my child completely.

God, you sound like all the Nancy bible-thumpers that were picketing outside of theaters for the DaVinci Code.
It’s a movie. Go see it or don’t. If a movie hurts your feelings with the message it portrays then you need to think about your priorities.
For the record, I haven’t seen Barbie, nor care to.

Hey, just realize this. Your country and society is literally being subverted and programmed right before your eyes, and you’re fine with that. So, when you witness reprehensible things take hold of your society now and in the future, realize when it comes from. That’s on you
