Hey, two of the three I used to wear are on there. One is upside down, which is the FORSCOM patch. Its supposed to be blue/white/red from top to bottom.
Funny thing about the other one I used to wear being the 8th US Army patch. Due to the similarities between it and the Umbrella Corporation logo from the Resident Evil series.
For reference:
Yeah I know the patch was around long before the game. I got a kick out of it when I was assigned to 8th Army HQ when I got to Korea. When I got to Bragg after my tour in Korea I still had the 8th Army patch on in replacement despite having direct orders to my unit. This one private straight out of training comes up to me and asked if I worked for the Umbrella Corporation.
I would guess due to the US occupation of Japan following WWII and 8th Army being the major command in that part of the world may have a bit to do with it.
Now this one is interesting:
My father was in the 24th Infantry Division when they were at Fort Stewart for Desert Storm and we lived there for about four years when I was a kid. Kinda wondering how this patch came about, maybe an early morale patch from the Korean War?

Pre- WW 2 Hawaiian Division patch.

I remember as a kid the Taro leaf used on the patch was colloquially called "the dog turd"

Could name quite a few but I think my variant of the 2ID is quite a bit older than yours. This came from my great-grandfather, somebody your great-grandfather probably knew as he was the commanding general of Ft. Riley in WW2 and a career cavalry officer. I have a lot of his official correspondence,
This might date to WW1, my great-grandfather's father was a general under Pershing.

Black patch with the indian head inside the star.
I thought was strictly 6th marine regiment but after researching, the army and marines shared that patch during WWI while the 5th and 6th regiments served with the armys 2nd expeditionary force.

My father was in the 66th Infantry in WWII, so I recognize that one. The black panther.

here's a picture of a Marine (and I know exactly who he is and his portrait in the Pentagon has him wearing the patch as well) wearing a 2ID patch...in WW1, the square division was devised for the AEF...
2ID, had the 3d and 4th Infantry Brigades (4th Brigade was USMC)...

I know the Armored division patches, the 82d Airborne, the Big Red One, the Cavalry patch, the 11th Airborne, and the USMC patch. I'm surprised there's not a 101st Airborne patch there.

What an awesome collection, OP. I recognized immediately all of the ones that are still active duty, I've worn a few of them myself. I only recognized about 1/3rd of the ones that are no longer active, guard/reserve, or have been de-activated. What a treasure you have.
