Are you worried about the price?
Because the insurance on the kid will be much worse than the note on a reliable lower mileage vehicle

We bought Brayden a Demo 2019 Range Rover. No way we were gonna buy him a new one and end up with a spoiled brat on our hands

That depends on the vehicle.
I look for newer high mileage vehicles or older low mileage vehicles.
I buy them from 80-140k and someome usually totals the damned thing with me in it around 220-240k
Basically, GM or v8 ford trucks will last. GM will have the better transmission. All toyotas with a frame will last to 300k with simple maintenance. Nissans... Are tricky. The older 3.3 Nissan motor is effectively bulletproof. So are the transmissions and driveline. But... They will eventually start leaking and some have electric gremlins with windows and such. The 05-11ish 4.0l nissan units had crap radiators that would wipe out transmissions.
I buy japanese 4x4s that have frames. Poor fuel economy nut no note and low maintenance.

My Braxtinn wouldnt be caught dead in a demo.. We got him a 2020 Range Rover with 12 miles on the odometer (he was kinda bummed about the 12 miles it had already been driven, but i used it to shuffle my other kid Baylinn to travel ball once.)

Dont have any teenagers but my dad got me and siblings all used Corollas and Civics. They all had between 90k and 150k and last us high school, college, and then some. I'm pretty loyal to Toyota. I still drive my 10 year old 4Runner with 200k on it and the wife has one as well.

An older Chevy or GMC with 150k miles is a great vehicle if all the regular maintenance was done. They're really well built, other then the gauge clusters.

If you can get an FJ Cruiser do it. Bought on for my daughter, best decision I could have made. She inadvertently pulled out in front of a speeding Escalade, who was hidden behind another vehicle.
That's bc the FJ windows are like looking out of a submarine. Blind spots galore
