3 right now, it is brutal. Cost more than my mortgage each month in total

That might be larger class than the school on Little House on the Prairie.

I remember my NFP class pre marriage. The teacher had 5 kids. Wife decided to stick with the pill.
our teacher went on a rant about how unnatural and wrong it was to use man made chemicals and stuff like that to subvert gods will.
I guess the chemotherapy she told us her child had to go through to beat cancer was "different"

Nope. I’m not putting my family’s stability at risk by not controlling our family planning. Use birth control if you’re as concerned as you sound. You think God is really going to be upset if you do birth control with a condom vs trying to plan around fertility? They had very little to no clue about how fertility periods worked when the Bible was written. It’s all birth control to him. The condom will break, or your wife will forget the pill, etc, if you’re absolutely meant by God to have the child then and there

Kids are expensive, period. I have 2. Both have never entered the doors of public school, from pre-K through HS.
My daughter attends boarding school, and she will be entering college next year. I am not sure that will be the path of my son, but the option is there if he matures.
My kids know the deal. If they make good grades, and walk the line (mostly), they will graduate from school debt-free, or they can get a job. The choice is theirs.

Have 3 daughters. Homeschooled all 3 up until we moved to Iowa. 2 oldest were already graduated. Sending youngest to private Christian school, this year is $950 a month and increases year to year.

You don't make much money and the schools you chose stink is what I get out of this.
Academically the school was very good, and I did not work the whole time the kids were in school - working wasn’t worth it and after the school pissed me off enough I changed my mind be it that the public schools suck

I don’t need to since I’m not the main bread winner

My wife and I.
"My wife and me" would be correct in this sentence, but I agree with putting yourself last not sure when putting yourself first became common but it bothers me a little when I read/hear it.

None for daycare and two for Catholic schools.
Don't tutor your kids in English.

There is always a tipping point on daycare where it makes more sense for someone to just be a stay home parent (usually the mom). Sounds like you will be there with another kid

My second just started daycare and I’m at $230 a week per kid so, $11,960 a year per, $23,920 total.
In our minds it’s very important to send our kids to catholic schools as I want them to have that religious foundation at home and at school. I also want them to be in a good school and to be surrounded by, on average, higher achieving peers.
Me and my wife make great money but I’m getting quite concerned or nervous about what life will be like if God blesses us with another child or another two or three.
We practice NFP, Marquette method currently, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been through this and if they had any perspective or guidance.
I guess my perfect dream would be to make a ton of money and have as many kids as God provides.
have 3 in catholic school now.
wouldnt change it for the world
but i sure as hell aint practicing NFP. when you are done, get snipped bro.

You sound like a good man and father. Keep up the good work. This is a refreshing thread to see compared to what has been on this board in the past few weeks. God bless.

Your post is the definition of a logical fallacy, to equate chemotherapy and birth control. One of those things has improved the quality of life. The other has not.

Jeeze. This thread makes me glad I'm in an area with half decent public schools.

Educated people shouldn’t hit this tipping point until they have 4-5 kids though. Many people fail to consider lost future wages after all the kids are in school. Lost retirement contributions and gains, lost salary increases.
I understand for some people, the money doesn’t matter as much as the experience of parenting, but it is a significant loss to drop down to single income.
