This thread makes me think horsepower ratings must be inflated. Just regular family cars now getting like 350hp.

The exact opposite is true, particularly with the Germans. The last decade or so has been the age of horsepower. It is cheap and easy to make with FI. The other issue to preventing HP inflation is you won't last long as a manufacturer if you overrate HP. If you do you will be buying back a lot of automobiles. There is a chassis dyno hiding around every corner and people make pulls on them with the most mundane cars.

Without all that, all you have to do is look at the instrument tests car rags do, the acceleration numbers show the power. Most 4-cylinder family cars are faster than most muscle cars of the 60s.

I run Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S. I’ve been happy with them.

What car? HP and suspension setup?

I’d go with the mickeys with as much side wall as you can handle on them to suck up the torque.

Unless you want a stiffer sidewall, then go with the Toyo.

I talked to a guy at a car show in Abita Springs a few weeks ago and he was running the M/T SS on a newer Firebird, and he said they hooked better than any tire he had ever had before. Thanks for the info.

...what did you do to that hemi...

Even on 35s you should be able to get 18 or so on the hwy.

Just got news that the flash is coming soon for my 5.6. And if they keep the same power they had when it was released in 18 I'll be 440hp and 519 ft/lbs.
