A more interesting change to see would be the disappearance of, say, cars

Granted this time adjustment is the 70's with no frill cars but I'd like to see 70's cars with our modern freeways. I'd bet they would last longer than 80k.

Actually doing math in your head
Paper maps
Better entertainment on tv and in the movies
Standard transmissions
Drive-ins with girls who came to the car and took your order (not Sonic)
Vinyl records
Music with instruments instead of computers

Pretty sure I could survive.

I still have my friends, family, books, access to air travel for vacations, and air conditioning? My life would be damned near as good as it is now. Sure, I'd miss the internet and video games, but I honestly feel we've lost a little of ourselves with those things becoming such a huge part of our lives.

Damn, I feel old saying that, but I'm just an OG millennial.

If I was 19 years old, like I was in 1978, a couple of months. With the health problems, I've developed with my current age, I'd probably be dead within a month.

I graduated high school in 1978, I was born in 1960. While it would take some adjustment, I think I could adapt pretty quickly.

When I was a kid, you ran the A/C when it was really hot, like in July and August. I still remember when I saw my first color TV.

It's the kids in junior high, high school and college right now who would really have the hardest time adapting.

You and I would get along well! I’m with you on that one. Went and saw the crash site right around the 40th anniversary of the accident

I hear what all of you are saying, however I wonder if you would actually get frustrated with some things.

Shopping for instance would take much more time with a limited selection. Just one example

I lived in that time. I still know how to read a map, balance a checkbook (and write a check), dial a telephone (and use a pay phone). I know how to push start a manual transmission (and drive one). I remember having 13 channels on cable, plus the "box" for movies. I remember movies being in the theater for over a year and that was the only place you could see them until they came on TV YEARS later. I have typed papers on an IBM Selectric typewriter.

Would it be less convenient than now? Absolutely. But the question is how long to adjust, and I could do it rather quickly.

Easy-

I'm Generation X, would have been 5 years old in '78.
I would really miss internet porn, but I know how to use a calculator and dial up phone.

Yes, it would really suck to have to go down on hairy 80's bush. But knowing that Archie's two youngest sons would each win a pair of Super Bowls would be money.

I’d live like a king because I would have some pretty sweet technology I could introduce to the world.

It wasn't like access to information was shut down, but it did require a trip to the library and everyone knew how to use a card catalog.

Lots of paper-based technologies worked fine, they were just slower and organized to facilitate manual searches.

For example, in 1978 it was perfectly possible to go to the library and examine microfilm of backissues of Playboy. Or so I've heard.

Very much so. We would all be writing and mailing memos and waiting for a response.

I the 70s we just made a phone call to resolve a issue, today we trade Emails all day maybe all week over minor things.

I had a extensive home library, I was constantly searching bookstores and adding to it, really miss that aspect. I rarely needed to go to a library for research purposes, just to check out new fiction.

It would be very easy. I know what it’s like to live without it.

It would be nice to go back to when it was essy to go off the grid but it would take time to get use to not having info at your fingertips. I'd miss youtube and thst rabbit hole.

In the 80's, I used to go browse Half Priced Books for used ones at least once a week.

My mom sold World Book encyclopedia, so we got a new set every year. They were the closest thing to the internet, in the 60's, and 70's.
