re: How long do you think you'd last in a medieval battle using an excavator?

These poor medieval baws don't know what's coming. These guys just wanna go home to their maidens and ungrateful shite children that survived child birth and quietly work the land and live under the brutality of the feudal system. Little do they know the OT is planning to come back and whip their arse.

The thought of a battle in medieval times with a traditional army vs. a bunch of OT time traveling baws riding different forms of construction equipment is too much for me not to crack up at work.
Sounds like a good story

If the excavator has headlights, attack at night.

Daniel Moore probably sells one that features a crimson Cat going against orange and blue peasants.

All they need is flaming arrows to the tracks. Catch grease and oil on fire

Medieval people believed in monsters, so they'd probably run. You might get to capture a few fair maidens for your troubles

With any kind of weapon attached you would rout thousands like Pizarro in Cajamarca.

Not as many as a 94 year old in an 82 Impala.

First I would get an excavator worth a damn and Komatsu is not one of them.

Give me a shorter boom on the excavator and I will last until about 2 minutes after the fuel runs out.
I ran a dredge crane a few summers while in high school.

For purposes of discussion, do you just magically show up with an excavator in the middle of a fight?
Or do you have the excavator before the fight and have the chance to plan with the rest of your army, which I assume you have?
That'll make a difference. If it's just you, after you get a few hits in, they'll just form a perimeter and wait you out.

I think about this exact scenario constantly

A few fireball shots with the trebuchet and you’d be on foot running for dear life.

This puts a whole new spin to Braveheart.
