re: How long do you live in a house before declaring it not haunted?

IMO, something odd has to happen several times for a place to be haunted.
Like we have a whiteboard hung up in our pool room and it has fallen down and ended up across the room three times since I moved here (August).
And I am in the room next to it, so I always have to get shook like a MF’er in the middle of the night.
I’m probably gonna get rocked by the Conjuring nun or something soon.

Creepy shite was going on in our 117 year old house when we were renovating it so my SO called our local priest. He came by and said a few prayers and sprayed down a few spots with holy water.
The only issue that I had was one or the front bedrooms window was ajar. I had trouble trying to close it but eventually happened. When I’m out of town for work my SO will call me freaking out bc she hears strange noises, i tell her it’s just an old house and it’s common.

What kind of creepy shite?

I'm more willing to give the traditional (pre-movie) poltergeist theory some credence, rather than buy into ghosts.
For those unaware, poltergeists weren't considered "spirits", but instead some form of psychic energy release. Someone with TONS of angst (usually a young teen), that somehow spills out and causes weird shite to happen.

What would you do if a ghost communicated with you?

I can see her in my mind.

I assume a house is not haunted until it proves otherwise.

It never even crosses my mind.
Although the other day we had just put our kid down for his nap and were listening on the monitor while doing some work outside and heard something strange.
He's one and a half and normally talks/sings to himself and such until he falls asleep, basically just saying all the words he knows or parts of songs he can sing, but this time he was just doing his thing and then went "bye" in his normal baby voice then followed it up with "BYE" in like a deep whisper and then silence. I definitely stopped what I was doing with a wtf look on my face.

Unfortunately there’s only 1 common denominator here...

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

it amazes me that people still believe in sorcery.

As if you can prove it didn’t work. There’s more to this world than meets your cynical eyes.

Never lived in a house that had strange things going and I grew up in a house that was built around 1910, it definitely had it's history. Most likely the reason I've never had any experience with the paranormal, because I never believed in the bs, when you die that's it, you're gone.

After doing a walk through with my home inspector, I called my wife and in my best creepy little old lady voice said, "This house is clear!"
Does that count?
Does that count?
