Or measles, or yellow fever, or typhoid fever, or thousands of other diseases we've cured.
Again, one of the stupidest conspiracy theories out there.

Because for it to do what the markets demand it does at its size it can't last forever.
Not everyone is out to get you dumbasses. Of course, there's some nefarious shite going on, but if you think everyone across the entire planet in the developed world is working together to hold back medical advances you are a fricking retard.

All bullshite aside I think we can focus on Cancer Prevention methods and not curing people who already have cancer cells spreading on their bodies.
Prevention such as eating clean foods, not using tobacco products etc etc
Which all are easier said than done in this current world of mega consumption

We cloned goats in a jar 30 years ago...you think it's too big of a leap to believe a lab somewhere is holding something that eradicates the majority of cancers...?

Of course, there are people holding onto cures for "cancer" in labs.
Lots of shite can "cure" cancer. And that lots of shite also kill the patient.
I could set a petri dish of cancerous cells on fire and kill the frick out of them. Doesn't mean that's a viable treatment for an actual patient.
And people with this idea that big pharma is withholding treatment need an economics lesson.
Pharma makes their money from chronic diseases. You know which people don't have chronic diseases?
Dead people.

Why do you think they allowed for the cures for every major disease thats been cured in the last century? Didnt care about that money?

Not all cancer cells are alike. They can arise from different cell lines (epithelial, germ, hematopoietic, etc.) and express different genes (e.g. different types of breast cancer). Treatment is directed based on these and other factors. Some chemotherapeutic agents effectively target certain types of cancer but are ineffective against other types. There is no cure-all therapy because of this variation.
Preventative treatment is probably the best way to minimize cancer risk:
Get a screening colonoscopy at age 50, or if a relative has been diagnosed with colon cancer, 10 years prior to their age at diagnosis
Upper endoscopy (esophagus and stomach) if you have a history of acid reflux or other risk factors
Regular prostate screening, including digital exam, for men beginning at age 40-50, depending on risk
Mammograms beginning at age 40-45 annually or sooner depending on risk and family history
Obviously quit smoking - consider a chest X-ray if you have a long history of smoking
The above will help you catch some of the more common cancers early where treatments are more effective
Unfortunately some cancers like pancreatic and esophageal cancers (and other weird cancers like kidney, gallbladder, liver, etc) often don’t manifest symptoms until it’s too late - it’s just the luck of the draw

Are we close? Will it be in the next 20 years?
If you want to define "cure", as having the disease eradicated from your body as the result of some treatment then cancer my be the only types of disease we can actually cure at the present time. We have vaccines to prevent disease, and antibiotics to treat infections, but most treatments for disease only provide temporary suppression of the effects of the disease, stop taking your meds, and the problem returns.

The amount of money and prestige in cures far outweighs treatment profits.
Cancer is just a much harder beast than a virus because cancers aren't some strain we can lock down.

Agreed
There are many people who think otherwise but with the amount of years cancer research has been ongoing...its a money maker

About 25 years ago. It's way more lucrative to have on-going treatments for a disease and treatments for it's symptom, than it is to have a one time cure.

Explain how
1) Gleevec
2) Gardasil
3) Tamoxifen
work.
Come back when you realize how incorrect you are or have difficulty understanding why it is that you're very, very incorrect.
I'll list more, if you'd like.

No it isn't. Charge a shite ton for the cure.
See: imatinib (Gleevec) for chronic myelogenous leukemia if the Philadelphia chromosome (not looking it up, but I think it's a tyrosine kinase transposition from chromosome 9 to 22)
It's curative.
It's expensive.
You're incorrect.
