I see them all the time between Atlanta and Birmingham. I get in front of them as quick as possible.

It’s not street legal. They will look at the nameplate on the door to see max towing weight and that will exceed it…..

See Mexican caravans multiple times a day on I-12... most I've seen is 1 truck pulling 3 other vehicles
I'm guessing the police don't bother bc they know the non-English speakers will never pay the fines anyway

At least it wasn't an old gutted school bus with 3 old Toyota SR5s stuffed in it ...with the last one hanging half way out.....and going 45 MPH in a 75 MPH zone.

First time seeing the Mexican motorcade eh? Wait til you a U-Haul pulling a clapped out Japanese van pulling a clapped out s-10 with half a ton of junk int the back pulling a trailered boat that clearly no longer floats filled with more junk.

This has been going on for decades. 20 years ago I would see a Ford ranger towing two other rangers heading south through arkansas. They use to love them so ford rangers.

Coming to the United States to get a car is like Mecca for Mexicans. Every able bodied Mexican is required to come to the US to tow a car back to Mexico

It's not fricking legal.
But if you or I have some issue or are caught with an equipment violation, you have to pay.
Cops just don't bother to fool with these illegal car trains as they don't feel like doing the paperwork and impounding all the shite heaps either.
Two-tiered justice system.

They line up at Copart on Greenwell Springs Road in Central every Wednesday for the auctions. They buy a shitload of vehicles, but Copart won't let them set up the caravans in their parking lot.
They haul all of the cars down to that empty lot at the corner of Greenwell Springs Road and Magnolia Bridge Road to rig everything up for the trip back to Mexico. I used to see it every week.

These make up half of the traffic on I-35 between Austin and San Antonio.

Are you saying the highway is not legal? Or are you saying something completely different?

There used to be decent money in doing this around 2005, but then the labor market overloaded and they started doing this on the way cheap.
It used to be a gig for lower-middle class gringos.

They are not taking the cars to Mexico. They all go to El Salvador and Guatemala per the 1000s of Mexicans I’ve worked with over the years.
