And how sure are you that becoming more tolerant of other beliefs is the same thing as losing belief that speech could be considered profane or that propriety in speech is something to which we should aspire?

Regular broadcast tv (ABC) didn't say the word. They only said it was such a bad profanity that they couldn't repeat it. They didn't even show the word with letters missing so we could figure it out. I had to go online to see what horrible word Trump said.

It doesn't really. The kids will eventually hear it and will probably eventually be saying it by the time they're in their teens.
However, because I realize the idea of not using curse words is a strong social construct for many, I respect the parent's decision to not expose their kids to profanity.

I've got better question for you.
Why can we show graphic violence on TV, but tits are out of bounds? I can't tell you how many people are fine with their pre-teen to teen kids watching The Walking Dead, but check the parents reviews for nudity before they will take them to a movie.
