Music is even funnier. I was listening to Pandora and "all about the Benjamins" comes on.
They have lil Kim's verse with profanity and all. But they edited the line
" you should do like we do, stack chips like Hebrews"
They just doubled the word "like". Found it odd.

FX has always been kind of notorious for the amount of sex, violence, and cursing they will show from what I remember.

It's not scientific it's a perceptual issue. When out in public and a group of people are speaking loud enough for others in the area to overhear and are using frick and shite in every sentence they sound ignorant. Learn to express yourself with clean language that you would use when speaking with your mother then you will be taken more seriously in life.

The new rules are you can use any profanity you like, but racial slurs are off limits.
And FYI this site is no different. You'll get profanity "corrected", but slurs will result in the entire contents of your post being deleted. Try using a derogatory name for homosexuals here and see what happens.

Two very different things. There are millions of people that use profanity and are wildly successful. Doctors, lawyers, etc.
But if someone is dropping f-bombs loudly in a public situation without regard for their surroundings, they are likely trashy and uneducated.

Are you hearing these on terrestrial broadcasts? I don't think cable/sat/inept is regulated in that regard by the FCC but terrestrial is.

T
I realize I'm old fashioned, but I fail to see when it's appropriate for professionals, Dr's and lawyers in your example, to use profanity with any regularity. I'm no bible thumper and when together with my buddies hunting or watching a game ie alone, the language is very different than when I'm out in public or with my family. Kind of the same with farting. If you have respect for those around you you just don't do it.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. I would trust my doctor more if he cursed because he would come across as a more genuine human to me.

Certain people in power have been purposefully damaging the moral fabric of the country for a long time, and it’s working.
Profanity and propriety have been a part of civilization forever, but now, as evidenced by this thread, the line between them is being erased.
It’s part of the same push that blurs the line between good and evil throughout popular culture. It’s for the benefit of evil.

Ginger used to get edited out too. Lol

I realize it’s engrained in us all to think of shite as a bad word, but really, why is that a “bad word” and poop is not? It’s describing the exact same thing, and there are holes people put it in. I really don’t understand it. Same goes for butt and arse. Who really sat down and made up these rules to what a bad word is from what is not?

Good. Sun worshiping, animal sacrifice, and poor dental care have been a part of human culture forever as well. Doesn't mean they have a place in modern society.
Useless social contructs rise and fall. Profanity is just another one of those.

Profanity is the litter of a culture.
Litter will turn a nice neighborhood into more of target and breeding ground for crime because criminals see that no one cares and no one is watching. Using profanity eventually and, ever so slowly, erodes a culture's respect for itself and it's morality. No to mention, it's a sign of lesser intelligence.

Once again, not a sign of lesser intelligence. Can we just stop this already?
LINK
And I'm sure that gang members are just hanging around neighborhoods and waiting for people to curse so they know that these are Godless people that they can move in and ravage.
It has nothing to do with socioeconomic status or anything.

Less than 100 years ago we had this..
We need to over throw the shackles of Puritans.

That’s just an assertion.
Regardless, profanity can only exist in a society that holds some things sacred.
We are being led to hold nothing sacred, so it makes perfect sense that we don’t believe in profanity anymore.
You wouldn’t reject the concept of things being profane if you held something sacred.
I’m not arguing for puritanical speech codes. Just lamenting the loss of goodness and preparing for the battle that is coming our way.

That went completely over your head.
And this is the pic from the article you posted, how intelligent does this guy look?
